Not to mention that after the Rodimus release was an actual release of MP-10 before they started the renumbering. They're not exactly going to designate him MP-10/MP-(-1).
I'm gonna assume that it's Smokescreen. I think they're done milking the seeker mold so they want to finish up milking the Datsun mold.

It's dangerous but this is exactly why I hang out in the 3P section. Yes TT has all my money for MPs, Hasbro got a little at first but it's so slow and inconsistent, I've given up on Hasbro MPs. They could have made a movie dead color battle damaged MP 10 and it would have sold like crazy but, let's make the same shit 5 years too late. Executives must have never played with toys or collected anything because their decision model is so far from the customer base it sickens me. Buy it, you know you want it. . I think they take us for dummies or simply have little pull with Tomy based on their ancient agreement with Takara.

You see right here is why I gave up on Transformers. this is the 10th or the 11 time that they remoulded this toy or released this toy pretty much under the same premise. they could have totally done something completely dynamic and done a G2 mp10 but no same old BS! this is why I won't give Transformers my money anymore; it's a big circle jerk!

Honestly not really. I mean I'm not an MP only collector to begin with and if I'm going for a Hasbro MP to begin with I call the store which has worked for every figure that isn't Soundwave (I had no problem getting Starscream despite supposedly being unobtainable). Quite frankly I enjoy the browse and looking at what's on the shelves. The only time I'm dissapointed is when it's dead empty which as far as TRU goes is never really the case.
In case you've been out of it the last few years it's a TRU exclusive but they sell it early at SDCC. It's been like this since at least Acid Storm and Soundwave.
OriginalFire
This is such a joke. Whoever decided that this should be a SDCC exclusive needs to be fired and these guys should be banned from SDCC for a few yrs for having this as an exclusive.

MP 10 by Hasbro at TRU,. Everyone has MP 10, Hasbro and TRU, You're about 5 years late and no one wants to wait another 30 years to finish an MP collection.

Check quote below (via AzT) for price confirmation. But on the bright side, TRU does occasional 15 or 20% off coupons, so you may be able to get one for what? $144 or $128? But yeah, the price is a joke. Hopefully it drops, but this is Optimus f*cking Prime. Even if it sells poorly, I doubt the price moves. He's the titular character. And if history foretells the future, the price will actually jump up one week after launch (as in previous MP releases).
But hey, even if TRU is on your way… don't you get tired of the empty effort? You walk into the store, go all the way to the TF section… nothing. I guess if you called ahead or something (as will be necessary to secure a SNES Mini), then it makes more sense… but I'm personally sick of leaving empty handed. Even if the TRU was next to my work, I think it's still an annoying trip. There's just better uses of my time…

I agree–just purely speculation on my part, but I can't think of a better reason for it.
Just like the Tootsie Pop, the world may never know…

But Hasbro's version of Rodimus predated the start of Hasbro's numbering…

Good catch. I assumed incorrectly about MP-10 and a direct connection to the TT order.
Wonder if they planned something else but had to shift midstream.
EDIT: Or I wonder if they are counting Rodimus since, even though he was not numbered, it was released not long after the TT version.

That's Takara numbering that started in 2003 with the original MP-1 Masterpiece Convoy, who was released in the US as "20th Anniversary Optimus Prime".
I'm talking about Hasbro numbering, which is separate and started in 2013 with MP-01 Acid Storm.
Under Hasbro's numbering, the last Masterpiece figure was last year's MP-08 Bumblebee, who was released as MP-21 Bumble by Takara.
Here's the full list of Hasbro's previous numbered Masterpiece figures. Hasbro's Rodimus was released before they started their own numbering.

Was Rodimus/Rodimus Prime. TT did the full version, the US Hasbro release was a TRU exclusive and was just the figure without the trailer.

So what is the difference between this one and any other mp 10 mould? Just wondering?
darthschroeder
I'm glad this is the SDCC exclusive instead of an MP that hasn't seen a Stateside release. If Tracks, a Conehead, or any of the other MPs unreleased in the US were SDCC exclusives, that would be really annoying since I can't make it to San Diego and lots of things sell out pretty fast once they hit the TRU site after the 'con.
I take it that some folk would rather see something new as an exclusive, but I'm happy I won't have to search for this one and it's cool that others will be able to add MP-10 to their collection.
I like this version of Prime so much I would totally buy a second one if I stumbled across it and it had enough differences from the first version TRU. This one seems to be a cross between Takara's MP-10 with darker blues, and Hasbro's TRU exclusive with light blue eyes, or it could be just a straight reissue of the OG TRU one, I can't really tell from the pics.

Sooo… again I ask, who is MP-09? Is Hasbro quitly going to skip a number just for the sake of "MP-10"?
Sportimus
It's the same old tactic from the same old TT/Hasbro playbook; Milk that cash cow until it runs dry. They're just trying to squeeze every spark of energy they can from the matrix in Prime's bosom.
I don't mind. I want to get another MP-10 because I simply like it. It won't be this one, though, since I know my TRU will sell out the 2 they get in a matter of minutes.
TCJJ
This feels like a middle finger to the people who missed out last time. "Here's another chance to get it but it's exclusive to SDCC so you'll never actually get it!"
At least MP-10 isn't in short supply, but still…
Raiyuki
Holdup was the price already confirmed?
And as far as going out and buying a prepaid card it ain't worth the effort. In case the gas money/time thing comes up TRU's on the way for me so it's really a non issue. The again all of this is moot for me personally since I have the Vector Sigma reissue anyway (went with the chosen Prime since they don't charge the shipping only BBTS is fixated on keeping anyway) but my assumption was that this one would be about $130 so I wanted to pick it up for the heck of it (mostly for sake of box variant and seeing if it's any different in hand.)
sumbitch
How about a death bed Optimus? That is not a statue….but actually transforms like normal….gray and black.
