Forum user Nevermore just shared with us stock photos from Amazon Italy of the new line of figures for The Last Knight, “Allspark Tech“.
These figures have a special cavity on their chest to plug an allspark cube that enables different sounds for each figure on robot and alt modes. We got photos of:
- Hound
- Bumblebee
- Drift
- Barricade
What do you think about this line of toys? Don’t forget it is aimed for kids 6+. Share your thoughts on the boards!
You can check a video from Last February’s Toy Fair where Hasbro shows the gimmick after the jump.

The starter packs are?

They've been out in the US for over two months! I think if nobody posted any galleries by now, it's because most people don't care.

I need that Megatron to complete my collection of Hasbro produced, transforming TLK Megatron toys.
Squeaks doesn't transform but damn it looks cool. I actually like the Allspark Tech stuff. I wouldn't mind getting a second cube myself.

Does this Sqweeks transform?
Nevermind, I just read on the outside of the package, "Product does not convert". That answers that question and saves me money.

Yeah, but I honestly don't know who the target audience for the Bayformer movies is supposed to be. That's another topic.

Wasn't that the movie with assassinations, political intrigue, and a city full of civilians getting wiped out by giant killer robots?

Yup fosure. I like the metallic blue and the only company seems to be getting that right is Jada but the car has no upgrades so it looks a bit off. But it's still the right color so that's dope.

Megs looks like he's wearing a fat suit!

Most of the adds from G2 were like that, dated but fun and could get you excited.

Hahaha

Place the allspark cube in Megatron's chest and Destroy them both!

I'd argue that the Dreadwing commercial is VERY 90's, as was everything in G2. The fact that no company has commercials like that is telling of the fact that it's no longer what appeals to kids. The ads for 80's toys are different to those of 90's toys which are different to today's toys.
I see a lot of people complaining about the first waves being mostly repaints and while I DO understand that (I myself hate waiting for all the Wave 2 Megatrons) I think it kind of makes sense to do it and it's not really all that different to what previous movie lines have done. Keep in mind that AOE Bumblebee was really late in the line and difficult to find whilst Lockdown, the actual main villain of the movie, was only in a later revision wave… so it's not unusual for the wanted stuff to come later. Hell, considering how Wave 1 seemed to be flying off shelves in the first few weeks of its release, it seems it makes the most sense to put the less desirable things early when people get swept up in the excitment of new line of toys rather than to have things like Megatron that will sell anyway.
Besides which, the Dinobots are dinosaurs and everybody (kids especially) loves dinosaurs. They're always going to be around due to that reason. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't in the next movie and yet still showed up in the toyline (just as Strafe and Scorn are doing here and like Slash has done for two movies now).
Finally, in regards to cutting lines down to just mainline and Legions… why would they do that? I'm sure most of the people here have atleast one One-Step toy. They're pretty fun, aren't they? It's pretty understandable why they'd be appealing to kids over the mainline considering they're ease to play with and smaller pricepoint allowing for the collecting of more characters for people who don't have their own income. They're also a good way to collect the whole cast: in the first two waves you've got Optimus, Bumblebee, Barricade, Grimlock, Hound, Megatron and Berserker. That's the same level of completeness you have out of the first two waves of both Deluxes and Voyagers and a much smaller pricepoint.

Yeah, I got 2 of them too with AOE and they are admittedly fun for what they are, but with some more thought behind them, they totally could add more articulation and better paint and replace Legion/Commander class.
(I'm actually somewhat happy to have gotten the AOE Prime one because the TLK version is far worse in paint if you can believe it… lol)
WishfulThinking
The $8-10 one steps fly off the shelf, movie and RiD. Best keep those around. Collectors may not like them but they're like candy to kids and they're at the "right price" for parents who feel like they're getting more product over the $7 legion figures.
