Transformers: The Last Knight – Mission To Cybertron Promotional Banner has been spotted at Toys”R”Us by our fellow staff member fallen_revenge.
So, what is this all about? Allow us to explain…
- The first news of Mission To Cybertron came in the form of a Glyph Decoder discovered by this very site.
- Secondly, toy images started to show up thanks to a Weibo user who posted new toys such as Voyager Class Nitro, Bomber Megatron, Deluxe Skullitron and Combiner Infernocus with Quintessa.
- It was largely speculated for quite a while, that this is a subline which will also be a store exclusive (specifically Toys”R”Us).
- This isn’t the first time such a subline existed, as TRU previously had Transformers: Dark Of The Moon – Mission Earth TRU Exclusive Subline.
This latest development may prove to be the solid confirmation of the fact that Mission To Cybertron is a TRU Exclusive Subline. All the pieces of the puzzle have now fallen into place. Mystery is finally solved it seems. Check out the full image, after the jump.
P.S. : A little tidbit this newsie discovered is the fact that the Mission To Cybertron TRU Exclusive Subline packaging artwork background will contain a Cybertron motif in purple while the main line will have a “dystopian earth” motif in yellow.

I totally agree. Hooligan and Mohawk I'll have to accept there won't be any, I'll just have to repaint Berserker and glue a Mohawk on Brimstone. Cogman, since we get the Tiny Turbo and the One Step there might be hope. Hot Rod, I can see hope for that because of the box art. But Onslaught is still unknown and I want to get it over with and confirm we are guaranteed one. I mean they already have licensing because of Optimus, he had a much bigger announcement than Hooligan and Mohawk or we who still be guessing who the Green Tow truck is, and Onslaught seems to have much recognition as Barricade and Berserker has much less. So what gives Hasbro?
Prime135
Thanks for the clarification! And, as I'm sure everyone, including you, is tired of hearing, I honestly don't care how long the line lasts, as long as we get adeluxe hot rod and voyager onslaught before it's over with (though I also wouldn't be averse to a deluxe hooligan and either deluxe or legion mowhawk).
Shin Densetsu
It isn't.

Premier Edition is clearly NOT the preview wave. Usually, movie Preview Waves will get two, three toys at most and not a whole 3+ Waves. People are still confused about the Premier Edition. It's 'Premier' and not 'Premiere'. Premier means "Good" while Premiere means "First".
In fact, I can prove this. In Middle-East the TLK Premier Edition is listed as "Classics Edition". I asked the retailer why and he said they gave this term to distinguish the Mainline toys from the gimmick lines.
I'm guessing because calling it the 'Generations' last time (AOE) led to even more confusion (with regards to retailers) than needed (lots of parents confused the gimmick line packaging). Adding a confusion with Generations (known to retailers as GEN) was even more of a fiasco.
MTC, I'm guessing…. had a confusion at TRU. For DOTM, the TRU Exclusive Mission Earth series was release somewhere near the movie. MTC might do the same. BUT for some reason the Glyph Decoders were given away accidentally.
I really don't know how long the mainline will run. But if Hasbro's Investor Presentation is any indication, only Q2 2017 is allocated for distribution and revenue.

And it didn't but we already know wave 2 is premier edition and as such is not just a preview
Prime135
Would it though? From what I understand Prime first edition was meant to go on a couple more waves but was cut short due to a line wide reduction in budget.

I agree hascon is to far out but not impossible the countdown clock on Tru site leads people to believe it will launch with the movie. But nothing is confirmed Hasbro may not have a panel at sdcc but it doesn't mean things wolnt be reveled it's a wait and see I don't see MTC being a holiday thing with nycc most likely being the official reveal of power of the primes.
Lazerwave
Just seems that Hascon is just too far apart and would not make sense because if they announced MTC there it would mean the subline would be a Fall or Christmas thing and they are already advertising it now at Toysrus.
lonewolf96
Well a couple things
If The premier edition was a preview it would
Be just wave 1 not all three.
Two Hasbro probably has an embargo on MTC because there are things keep secretly from the light. I highly doubt we were supposed to know about the creator let alone a name until the movie came out. And as such probably is why there has not been any more leaks.
Stores put product out way before they are sopossed to and the corporate level can't control all the employees of all stores they tell them and others don't follow instructions sometimes.

I'm still wondering why is there nothing revealed. Somehow I feel that the Premiere Edition is actually a Sneak Preview wave. I just feel since Toy fair revealed what we know and the release is 2 months apart. Since the movie is less than 2 months away. I wonder why the hand out decoder cards when Mission to Cybertron has not been revealed yet.

shit, the TRU in Tucson has NOTHING movie related or TR related….just a few sad empty pegs for RID 2015 rejects….otherwise their little transformers section is EMPTY.
lonewolf96
Nothing but tru yet

Any word on Target or Walmart exclusives? In the past, we've gotten some interesting color variants on old toys (lazy repaints?
). Obviously TRU is going for the big show, but as it's actual product we're interested in, none of this junk matters.
At all.
For all we know, Walmart will get an amazing blue chromed Optimus with matching purple chrome Meg's, and kind of null/void all this TRU marketing BS.
I wouldn't complain if not that the marketing seems to be a bigger focus than the product lately – in other words, I fully expect the signage next to empty pegs at my local store!
Lazerwave
I just hope Mission to Cybertron has plans for at least 2 waves. As much as I believe it's going to focus on TLK, somehow I feel it's related to the 10th anniversary.
lonewolf96
I'm not saying there's not Voyager class figures in the subline there are 100% and I believe your right nitro is listed as a cross sale which means it's on someone else's instructions I'm saying it's odd.
Lazerwave
They didn't say anywhere on the leaked list that Voyagers would fit anywhere in Mission to Cybertron. But as I stated this morning. This picture of Nitro must be on another Voyager's instructions.

It may be a possibility of another Voyager along side Nitro. It's just a mystery of where it will fit in with the other Mission to Cybertron exclusives.
Moy
You are correct.
Also Optimus should be in a cybertronian form. Or it could reflect a small scene from the past, of Megatron in his old form teaming up with Optimis.? Idk
Daimao
that poster doesn't really make sense though, Megs is in his original form but prime is in his Knight mode. I don't think that has any bearing on anything in the film, when Prime and Megatron fight they'll both be in their newest forms.
Moy
This is why.
