Grimlock gets a cover because…
"Dinosaur! GRRRRR!!!"

Hate to bring this up again but my work got these in on DVD last week. The new Artwork does look really nice however it's the standard dvd artwork underneath grabbed a pic for anyone interested in how they look side by side

Love the artstyle, and really wanted a uniform collection, but I wish they were 4K and steelbook instead. Slipcovers are cool and all, but steelbooks are freaking sweet. Plus, these days, I don't really buy Blu-Rays anymore – trying to be more future proof, and the last thing I need is another set of these only for me to buy ANOTHER set in a year or two on 4K.
Bah.

Figures it was just last year that I finally got around to buying the three I didn't have (I only had Dark of the Moon as a birthday present from 2011). As much as I love the artwork and consistency, unless there's anything new in these I can't see myself getting them.
Silvershot
Not yet – this would be the year for the 10th anniversary, but I haven't heard of anything yet.

See, I like Rotf. I understand its not a great movie or anything, but I've learned to accept the movies for what they are. (helps I love the designs.)
But it's still pretty funny that the Amazon preorder price for the ROTF re-release temporarily dropped down to 12.99 while I don't believe the others have dropped at all.

Would have been better if:
– The logo's remained in their original font;
– There was no Decepticon/number on the cover;
– Lockdown instead of Grimlock.

Releases like this are typically identical to the last release. To quote Beast Megatron, "Same product, new packaging."

3 and 4 came with digital copies, you can get 1 & 2 in HD 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus through Vudu for $2.00 through their disc 2 digital service.
Spontificus
I like the nice, clean art. It reminds me of the covers for the IDW Collection: Phase 2.
Any word on what extra's or bonuses these come with? Digital copies would be nice.

I throw out the slip covers

They serve no purpose, especially if it's the same art as the paper insert. Though I'm not going to lie, when they make them shiny or put effort into them, they're quite nice.
The worst side of them existing for me is that it's another piece I have to deal with to obtain a mint copy. Unless the online retailer uses a box, the slipcover's in jeopardy. In-store can be worse because major releases get stuffed into security cases that obviously don't fit and damage the top and bottom.

They look great. Might get these!

I've been meaning to buy these on Blu Ray except AoE. I'll likely buy these. I appreciate them unifying the font titles too and think it works better in 2D as it looks less bloated. That said, I do like the AoE font the most. I get why they included the numbers since all 4 films are being released at the same time but not in a box set however, it would have been better is it were on the spine. I suppose it had to be immediately readable.

My store literally has 30+ Rotf copies on clearance for $3.74. It's annoying

Technically Bumblebee should be the first movie cover and Optimus Prime should be on the Dark of the Moon cover.

Where did the pics come from, btw? They don't seem to be on the listings.
Wonder if these will get released outside of the US.
Jetstorm
They're nice, but unless there's new on-disc bonus content, I'll pass (I already have the movies on Blu-ray- including the Wal-Mart "Big Screen Edition").
Chris James
Decent but not great slipcovers in my opinion. Not that I was planning to get these anyways. I've already got them all on blu ray.
artiepants
it's just so very 70s looking.
again though, while no fan of the movie designs, i love those illustrations, cool, graphic, exciting.
only weirdness is Grimlock kinda breaks the formula by being in profile instead of head-on (and i know the Dinobots were such a huge part of the marketing for that movie, but they ended up such a non factor i'd have gone for Lockdown, Stinger or Galvatron, which would have made a nice symmetry with Bot/Con on 1/2 AND 3/4
