TF_pr on Twitter has shared some clear pictures of the upcoming Takara Legends LG-41 Lio Convoy. Originally Alpha Trion’s mold, the new colors and head gives a fresh new look of the character. We can also see that it will include one of TR Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain’s gun besides his sword.
There are other pictures showing MP Optimus Primal riding Lio Convoy in beast mode, and other one with Lio Convoy wearing MP-11 cape.

This would have worked alot better as Big Convoy, I really don't get any Lio Convoy vibes off of this other then it being a lion, hes just way too bulky and viking looking to remind me of skinny ol' Lio Convoy.

I've said it a few times before, but rather than swinging the lion forelegs completely out of the way, just rotate the paws around at the wrist. The paws no longer hide the taper of his torso so it stops looking like a giant cube, and the paws hanging off his belt call to mind an animal pelt tied around the waist, cementing the "barbarian king" imagery invoked by the mold.

I like it more than I thought I would. I prefer transforming it this way. The torso looks too square with the lion legs transformed the intentional way and the horns leftover from Alpha Trion just look dumb. Only bad thing is that it makes the giant hinge sticking out of his gut more obvious.

I'm really digging this.
I'm honestly pretty impressed about how a good paint-job can completely change my opinion of a mould. I'm not a fan of TR Alpha Trion but the combination of gold, white and red is simply gorgeous and makes the flawed lion mode much more passable.
The vehicle mode is even better. This mode in TR Alpha Trion was barely anything but with the right details being painted here, you can actually buy this is an actual space ship.
And of course there is the robot mode which is solid due to beautiful paint scheme. The weapons are also appreciated, the sword is pretty appropriate for a majestic character like Lio Convoy although I don't understand the purpose of Astrotrain's gun since he can't even hold it properly. The articulation is not the best but it has the require wrist swivels for cool sword poses.
Overall, this is yet another successful toy in my mind and one of the reasons why I prefer the Generations/Legends lines over Masterpieces. A simple yet incredibly fun transformation which offers a lot of playability.

I meant to say the mould used doesnt suit A3.. its better Imo as Leo Prime. A3 needs to be a new mould if Takaratomy were to release him….lol. fixed.

Technically, this is Alpha Trion's own distinct body. It was Takara that repurposed it into Lio Convoy.

Agreed. Alpha Trion needs to have his own distinct Transtector body.

I'm just a toon guy so I'm not buying this version of the character BUT to me this is a great upgrade for the character , I could easily see this being the ultimate next version of him and yeah this does fit the mold heaps and bounds better than alpha trion.
