Hasbro Toy Shop has been updated with official images and details of Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet.

Details:

“Autobots, we are here… and we are waiting…” The epic words of Optimus Prime have inspired many to join the cause and fight for the freedom of all sentient beings.

Now, you can issue an Autobot call to arms with the commanding power of the voice of Optimus Prime with this Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet. The First Edition helmet leads the charge as the debut collectible for Transformers: The Last Knight. Don the helmet, find the hero within, and show that you too are more than meets the eye.

In addition to the voice changer feature, the helmet comes loaded with 21 button-activated Transformers sounds and phrases, including a screaming Cybertronian battle riff. It’s designed with movie-accurate detail and features adjustable straps. One size fits most. 3 AA alkaline batteries required. Not included.

Includes helmet and instructions.

I still have one of the ones from the earlier movies sealed that I should probably get rid of. Thought I was going to display it in my collection, but I took all my movie figures down. The new one does look pretty nice though.

I personally plan someday to replicate that infamous "PLACE HEAD HERE" Hunting Trophy board from that one G1 episode, only then acomplish what Chumley could not and mount my Voice Changer mask on it to actually have Optimus Prime's head mounted on a wall.

It's the only real reason I can see me wanting it – got it for free from a guy on another forum who was just pitching out closet junk, and while I can wear and use it, it likes to grab strands of my hair when I take it off.

As a kid, I would have loved this. Can\'t really picture wearing it around the house or to work as an adult. It seems to me the best use to which this item could be put (for an adult) would be a large scale, organized, Hollywood-esque style bank robbery. Picture the opening scenes of \"The Dark Night\" but instead of clown masks, the robbers are wearing these beauties. I think it would be awesome!

Honestly, it's a touch too fancy to wear to work. It's really more of a church or funeral battle helmet to me.

So is this thing of the same grade as the Stormtrooper and Iron Man helmets were? As both of those are fantastic (not to mention pricey; fortunately I nabbed both on sale.)

Has nobody bothered actually looking at the price of this thing? It's $80! For nothing but a cheap plastic outer mask and a simple voice modulator. The original voice changer masks cost maybe half as much as this and had MORE paint, too!

80 bucks for that ? Who is stoned enough to pay that for a plastic helmet that will say like 10 things lol… For 80 bucks it better make you sound exactly like Prime.

I was wondering why the sudden surge in price between this release and the last one myself. I haven't been paying attention to all the features this time around but is there some new feature that warrants such a price hike or is it just simply raise the price due to inflation or something?

It's the same kind of packaging as Hasbro's Star Wars premium helmets they had out at christmas. The leftovers of those are $15 now.

I paid like $5 for my first movie one at Walmart.

Ok, didn't realise we were discussing the real life practicalities or keeping stuff in a warehouse, thought it was just the hypothetical 'I wish they stocked what I want'…

Though it's probably the amount of CW figures they have left taking up room rather than a totally different product type…

I would assume that the number of people who'd rather have titans return wave 3 outnumber the people wanting the helmet. And I'm talking rats vs pandas numbers here.
