The official You Tube page of Hasbro has posted a TV Commercial for Transformers: Robots in Disguise – Combiner Force.
“Crash and combine forces to become more than meets the eye! Turn two into one with Robots in Disguise Crash Combiners and Activator figures.”

Neat commercial…. still stupid-looking toys. I'm curious enough to give the toys a chance (for my young boys), but they look like upgraded 1-steps, and I LOATHE the 1-step/3-step line. I get the younger audience, but the spring-loaded gimmicks are f-ing irritating. If they want TFs for kids, go back to simple transformations (a la G1 brickformers), rather than throwing in spring tricks that fail 90% of the time.
This combiner line feels like a death knell. Is it really going to sell? Or is it another failed line of gimmicky crap, destined to share space with the likes of the Nintendo Power Glove?
A special dance or routine (a la DBZ) would have been entertaining!

Optimus and Strongarm be like:
FUSION!

not as great as the G1 Multiforce & Energon combiners as they lacked their respective full bodied modes when separated,
also does this count as Optimus turning into a woman when he crashed with Strong Arm? i want to hear his voice when combined with her…..

Oh man, some exciting CGI, I wonder what it all leads up to. (Kid transforms the toy)… that was uneventful.
Enigma2K2
If they were any simpler they'd be one step changers. Let the "They're meant for kids…" excuses begin!

I feel Energon did the gimmick much better now when you had 2 robots that could combine and either could be the torso or legs.

Aside from Neo-Wingwaver, the Combiner Force guys really don't work. What made the Multiforce guys (and Energon, to an extent) work is that both components could switch between torsos and legs. Here, Prime is always going to be the torso and Strongarm is always going to be the legs. Which limits the possibilities of customisation.

Only one I'm really interested in is the plane/boat one. Reminds me of wingwaver from victory

I'm sure someone will do the entire multiforce on the radicons threads.
Fallout
oh man, imagine cybertron's level of fun and originality again. that'd be fuckin legit
flux convoy
I feel dumber having watched that.

If they took RID from RID, Mini-cons from Armada, and Combiners from Energon does this mean that the next gimmick is gonna be cyber planet keys and good articulation?

Wow digging deep with that one. I had to look those up. As a G1 kid I had never heard of those outside of the US line. And I tapped out on TF after Micromasters till the G2 line came along.
I looked it up on YouTube for some vids on it and yeah it is very similar. Still it looks like everyone walks around like they're hold something between their buttocks or on stilts.
I'm referring to the bots' legs by the way.

I'll buy a set just to check it out. Video had nice sound effects lol
netkid
This is what they would look like if you bought the 3 currently known packs and mixed them around. This line has potential.
NOCV
At the risk of sounding disparaging, at least they fit within that "could've been so much better" theme that most of the Robots in Disguise toys share.

So much for video review already got it
From commercial no need see articulation it won't be that great arms and legs will be able move maybe head that's it
Blitz.
gah activators… thats a sub-line I hoped had died.
toy looks ok kinda shocked they didn't do a mix and match shot with side swipe and prime to show that off but hey it's not important.
Fallout
hey kids, aren't head on collisions RADICAL?

Ahem if I may remind people of those old G1 multiforce guys that everyone forgets that the combiner force line gimmick is more like that than energon's gimmick.
bman29
So they're dredging up the old Energon gimmick, just not as interesting looking.
