Legendary Transformers scribe Simon Furman has shared some details about the new Transformers: The Definitive Collection partwork on his Facebook page. First and foremost, he’s shared some information on a signing which is taking place on January 14th at Orbital Comics in London in the UK to celebrate the launch of the series. The signing will include Simon Furman himself, as well as Geoff Senior, Lee Sullivan, Jeff Anderson, John-Paul Bove and Stephen Baskerville, which the possibility of more to follow. In other words, it is likely to be the definitive Transformers comic signing (outside of TFNation 2017, one assumes).
A further update from Simon Furman also clarifies how definitive this partwork will be – it will collect every individual issue from Dreamwave, including the ongoing series and the Summer Special issue, which have never before been collected. As Simon Furman himself puts it, they really mean “definitive” with this collection.
You can find out more about the signing on the Orbital Comics website.

is it just the issues, nothing else? I have all issues of the transformers classics us and up to volume 5 of the UK classics as well as every IDW collection up to phase 2 volume 4, so I don't know if I have any need for this, suppose I could pick up the first issue and see what it's all about..

Simon also just posted about what bonus materials come with the subscription:

Okay, so because the official website was so incredibly vague about what is in the books, I asked Simon Furman on his blog. Here is what he said:
So, yeah, everything from Marvel, Dreamwave, even IDW will be included, but the release order will be all over the place. Which I don't much like. Honestly, I need Marvel G1/G2 (US and UK) but nothing else – I already have every TPB from DW and IDW of comics that I want, but I will not want to pay 10Ł for, say… Micromasters or Mike Costa's G1 or say, All Hail Gagatron.
I hope the issues will make it to Ebay.co.uk and then I can just buy the G1 ones.

I wonder what the chances are of getting The War Within Vol.3 reprinted? I know it only run 3 or 4 issues, but I'd love a reprint of the published issues, and then maybe summaries using Furman's scripts and the non-published B+W artwork (published in Comic Digest or something?) or especially commissioned artwork!

It's the Definitive "G1" comic collection – encompassing all of Marvel (US/UK), Dreamwave and IDW.
Really pleased Hachette are going to publish Dreamwave vol 3 – more than IDW managed, and in glorious hardback edition too.
This is going to be a fantastic series.

This is when it would be helpful for news to have been posted into new threads rather than buried in an ongoing one.
Not having a dig at you personally Phil. But that thread didn't even come to mind when looking for if this news had been shared.
