Rumble, eject! Operation: devastation.
First we crack the shell, then we crack the nuts inside!
Rounding off the look at the Titans Return Wave 2 Legends, all of whom are minions of Soundwave, we have Rumble… Frenzy… the red one! (He’s called Rumble on the packaging like the original toy). Rumble’s two biggest contributions to Transformers lore is being the original Decepticon bully-boy and enforcer of Soundwave, and the starter of many needless arguments over if he’s the red one or not (RIBFIR – Tony Bacala). A small yet fearsome foe for the Autobots, when Rumble jumped into battle he did so with his devastating piledrivers which could split the ground asunder. As a remold of Titans Return Rewind, Rumble is a well done mold reuse, though elements like the boxy lower arms fit better with Rewind than Rumble. Still, overall Rumble is a great little toy, and the details on the device mode fit in well with Laserbeak and Ravage – making all three look like a sort of “Decepticon espionage operations team”. Check out the gallery for a good look at this Decepticon enforcer’s newest iteration.
Pros
- A fun little toy with three solid modes.
- Optional arm transformation for “piledrivers” is a bonus.
- Red and black deco looks very sharp, plus there are some nice details on the stickers for the device mode.
- Goes well as a set with Laserbeak and Ravage – particularly given how all three share a deco and details on the alternate modes giving them all a team vibe.
Cons
- Lower arms are boxy, and a little limited in their motion.
- Edges of the stickers seem to peel easily, especially the ones on the feet.
- All three toys in the assortment are mainly black meaning the set can feel a little samey – the better known blue Soundwave minion might have been a better choice to keep the assortment varied.

They also went through a phase at Hasbro during 2011-13 of using the cartoon names for Rumble – the cancelled Reveal the Shield Demolition Rumble, plus the released Prime and Fall of Cybertron Rumbles were all blue. Notably the Japanese versions of all three switched the names back, and since the design team at Hasbro changed in 2013 they've gone back to the naming used by the original toys.

At the beginning.

The stickers on mine were super not all crooked and messy like my Rewind.
Here's to hoping we get eject and frenzy

Minions is still better than "pets"…
Poor Ratbat… "Did I ever tell you about the time I was leader of the Decepticons? I coulda been a contender!"

Errr, [VALUED LILLIPUTIAN COMMUNICATIONS TEAM MEMBER]? I think that is what the HR memo said the current preferred term is.
SMOG
HOW DARE YOU CALL THEM "MINIONS"! RAAAAAAAAGE!

I've had him for over two months and I think he's a better use of the mold than Rewind. Well his stickers are better applied than on my Rewind. :/
The Blue guy needs to get announced soon….real soon.

Enemy should be red where Rumble is black and dark blue where Rumble is red.
Give them time. They've only just released Rumble and Rewind hasn't been out for long as it is.

Hasbro had better release the blue/purple one (Frenzy), just based on the amount of time that one had in the cartoon compared to the red one. We also need Eject (easy repaint of Rewind), Steeljaw (repaint of Stripes, who has some parts that are almost the same yellow that comprises most of Steeljaw's body), Ratbat (repaint into Wingthing?), and Ramhorn (maybe it could be remolded into a better Ravage).

I am still on the fence about getting [RED AND BLACK HUMANOID MINION] since I already have the okay United/TAV representation and there has been no word if [BLUE HUMANOID MINION] will be released. TR Rewind is a fun figure and these pictures look great. I can see Takara doing both of them and maybe [RED AND BLUE HUMANOID MINION].

Actually, I only bothered to read this thread because I was wondering how out of control the Red Rumble / Blue Frenzy denial rage was going to get.

Ok, dude. I'm done.
Megasquared
Yep you were so done you keep bringing it back up. I'm not even talking about anymore. So if you would have dropped it it would have been dropped. So don't look at me look at yourself.
peddlerofwine
Why bring it up then, lol? I was done with the frenziness until you responded to my quote.

This mold works so much better than Ravage and Laserbeak molds.
Starscream 91
No, I'm saying that all three cassettes are good but if I was to rank them Rewind/Frenzy would be third and Buzzsaw/Laserbeak would be first. I'm just having more fun with the Condors. Still, no where did I say that the mold was worse then the Condors.
Megasquared
I knew you would respond to my post. Of all the people I quoted you were the mostly likely to respond.

Back in the days of hallowed antiquity I was friends with the guy who codified "FIRRIB" (Scott Wells AKA Frenzy on TF2K5 MUSH), so part of me will always be loyal to that concept. That said I like this mold and hope to see it done in blue and released as Frenzy, then I can have both of them and it won't matter.
Additionally, I hope we get a blue redeco of Rewind so that Eject can also be represented. HE SHOOTS HE SCORES!
peddlerofwine
Yup! You just restarted the Frenzy debate.
