Jim Sorenson, who worked with IDW to publish some excellent guidebooks on the original Transformers and Transformers Animated, has updated his blog with another exciting contribution to the community. A few years ago many scripts for the original Transformers cartoon were sold at auction, which Jim and others collectively bought and digitized for the community. These scripts were originally made available to the fandom at large on a file-sharing service which has since closed down, and the news for you today is that they are now available again via Google Drive! Check out the update on Jim’s blog, the Disciples of Boltax, for the full story.

Awesome, so YOU'RE the proud owner of those 2 episodes. That's cool as hell Scubaboy31. Any chance you share it with us like these pdfs ?

Thanks for posting these.
So awesome to see these.

Wow, first we get treated to deleted audio from G1 episodes now we can see the actual scripts of some of these. Its a great time to be a G1 fan. Thanks for sharing Jim.

What can we do to get you to scan and share "Desertion"?
scubaboy31
I own scripts for Roll For It and both parts of Desertion of the Dinobots which I love to bits. So much insight into episodes I love. I\'ll certainly enjoy reading other scripts I didn\'t get!

Yeah, that explains a lot. I remember watching Five Faces of Darkness, and Rodimus's dialogue there sounded grandiose, but unfamiliar. It confused me when Arcee said that Rodimus was now speaking the words that Optimus had said when he was on his death bed. I remember hearing about the original script or maybe reading it as well. As we can see, Optimus's dialogue on his deathbed was different from what was scripted.

Sorry, I just got back from swimming and it's been a weird day, and yes, my brain does make farts.

Ah, yes, nothing says "This is a children's movie for advertising children's toys" like an R rating.

Did… did you have a stroke?
I haven't even started to peek at the scripts, I'm more interested in the internal marketing material. Does anyone know if there's any more of that available? It'd be really interesting to see how they distributed product and developed marketing.
jims
Well, hell, any chance you could digitize it and upload? Drop me a line, friend!

Awesome stuff. Gonna get properly stuck into these. I have the script to Atlantis, Arise! It's a fascinating accompaniment to one of my favourite G1 episodes.
The Smirker
I think vince dicola\'s protoform sessions can give us a look on how the early script is would\'ve been, if music had been provided, the early script is a lot more mature and more violent, I think no one would\'ve seen this and wouldn\'ve been a r rating if possible, but the tftm I know is the best
The Smirker
Decepticons looked more ruthless and not giving a crapftm in t. Unicron had more of a bigger role I think.

If anyone wants too do readings and record these I'm game to do it with you! Dibs on Soundwave, Shockwave and Grimlock though!

This is some interesting stuff – especially the TF The Movie script:
OPTIMUS PRIME
My time in the light has ended ….
(reaches up with right
hand with great effort)
In accordance with our tradition,
I now summon my successor .
Ultra Magnus! Give me your hand,
old friend ….
This is very similar to the line that Rodimus said in Season 3 after wanting to pass the Matrix to Springer.
OPTIMUS PRIME
(voice failing, pressing on with it)
You and I battled the Decepticon~
hordes across the corridors of
time itself. I know you will continue
that struggle .•••
(sags, gasps, hanging on)
My life Spark! .••• Transfer the spark!
Looks like the TF life Sparks were being considered in this movie long before Beast Wars (which took this from the comics)
