Luckily the fins are only clipped in place and can be popped out and turned the other way easily to give a more conventional looking, if chunky, jet mode.

A chunky jet with the fins facing the right way is still miles better than that mess of an official transformation.

I wonder how well that holds together since the back half isn't pegged in. Looks nice!

Might be chunky, still about a thousand times better than the official mode!

I think Broadside would be OK if the fins were turned to face the other way. Yah know, like how jets actually look? I could overlook the bulkiness if the fins were the right way.

Well we recently got the UW Ruination comic so maybe we'll get some news for the Legends line soon.

I'm surprised we don't have more leaks of the next wave yet. Wave 3 is shipping for most online retailers and that's normally when the leaks for the following wave really pick up. I am super excited for Perceptor, but I want to know who else will be joining him.

You are all probably right but if the retool as PM prime was planned from the start as most retools apparently are

PMOP was planned as the retool because on CW Ultra Magnus, if you remove the faux chest plate, the face of the truck is sitting right there in the chest – given the figure's robot mode size, PMOP was a no brainer. While the Titan Master headmaster gimmick plays well into the design, they could have easily retained the function of the original CW UM core figure. Not all figures in Combiner Wars were actually combiners – Megatron, specifically.

Flywheels would be easy, just stick Skytread's head on the TR Megatron. Thunderwing would be a retool of Black Shadow, a reverse of their deluxes.

And seriously, G1 toys weren't that tough. It was harder to straight up shatter them, but breaking them off or rendering articulation useless was so easy back then. And they were way harder to repair if they simply got loose.

The durability was better in the 80s. While I love the modern toys, I can't help but feel they are much too fragile to be actually played with. So many hollow parts, thin plastic walls, etc.
