Hasbro conducted their New York Comic Con 2016 Live Panel moments ago and here’s a summary of the panel for you to read and discuss.
You can check out our images from the event as well. More will be uploaded soon.
Here’s a summary of the summary:
- First merchandise from Transformers: The Last Knight.
- Trypticon’s Leg Revealed! (No, we are not kidding)
- Transformers Fans are the best.
- Toys from Transformers Prime Wars Trilogy – Titans Return.
Check out all the info and more, after the jump.
John Warden and Ben Montano present. John is the Design Manager on the Transformers franchise at Hasbro while Ben is the Director, Brand Marketing at Hasbro Interactive.
Transformers toys are on stage.
First reveal from Transformers: The Last Knight. Revealed the recently unveiled Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet.
Peter Cullen did the voice for the product.
Warden stated that the helmet has signature lines form the movie. He pressed a button on the side and the speaker (on the top of the helmet hidden behind the Autobot Logo) stated the following:
- “Autobots, engage the enemy.”
- “Knowledge is the pathway to….”
The helmet is very durable.
Optimus Prime will have an epic journey in this movie. He’s going to be huge.
Presenter asked something on the lines of whether we’ll see Hot Rod. Answer: Hasbro is in the middle of the Prime Wars Trilogy. Hot Rod is a prominent character.
Introduced Preceptor and Twinferno.
Preceptor is first time in Microscope form since the 80s. Twinferno has dragon heads for hands.
Sixshot next – Bringing him back in leader class scale. Super posable than the original.
Sky Shadow next – This is a transformer with an added layer of puzzle to it.
TRYPTICON‘S LEG REVEALED! Stated that this is voted by Transformers Fans.
Very sturdy. Very very sturdy.
So fun to hear the team talking about 80s Boombox. So cool.
The representatives from Hasbro are so proud of the fans they have. G1 to Movie… best fans ever. What’s powerful is the bond with the toys. Working at Hasbro for Transformers is being the coolest dad in the world.
Two more Transformers Live Action Movies in 2018 and in 2019 after Transformers: The Last Knight next year. Hinted that fans may see Cybertron.

Do not forget the rules or remold/re use some parts/repaint. (Just like Metroplex to Fortress Max.)
The lamest Remold will be Gigastorm(which is beast war 2).
Maybe the designer already have ideas to turn a dinosaur into a scorpion involving remold parts.. Lol
As for Sixshots.
Quickswitch/Sixknights, Greatshots (hidden gem: Shadowmaru) are always great.

In additon, the leg spilts as part of the playset so you may even say it's illogical. I kind of want him to be motorised since I fear he will be too big and heavy for me to enjoy posing and moving him (makes me wonder how even children would handle this beast), but my top priority is the playset so I am willing to give up on this gimmick for it's perfection*-*. Also he will be cheaper that way as you mentioned above.
That Guy
How's this for a super rough size comparison? *Assuming that TR Trypticon has the same body shape as the G1 toy but with more articulation and playpattern additions.

I was front row for this. Twas awesome!
Prime135
I seriously doubt it. Judging by his size, a motor would be prohibitive both from a cost and engineering perspective. The pieces you're referring too are also made of clear plastic (aka extremely brittle), and are much too small too support the rest of the figure. Add to that the fact that he has ankle tilts, and they're more than likely just for decoration as an homage to the original figure and cartoon model.

Is Trypticon going to have a motorised walking action? I hope not, but the 2 translucent plastic pieces coming from the side of the foot are usually for stabilisation on motorised walking toys. Like Zoids for example.
Niran
are those tshirt on for sale somewhere
MetalStorm
Hey Trypticon, does that leg go all the way up???
Seriously though, Hasbro does it go all the way up?
SPLIT LIP
It does split apart, I believe there's a pic in this thread or the Trypticon fan vote thread. It implies the figure will basically have the G1 toy's base mode.
The leg looks fine to me.
GizmoTron
Possibly most of the width in the leg is due to the fact that it looks like it may actually split apart for the city mode.
JCthegreat
Is this the only panel?
Kyle Blues
My only problem is the lack of proper toes on the foot, otherwise I appreciate the throw-back to g1 aesthetic like how they are doing with sixshot.
Primus00
I always prefer the japanese names.

Good preview of Dinosaurer's leg. Hope Megazarak will follow soon.

The detail is good on that leg but the silhouette is hurting. It's the same width at the shin as at the thigh which gives it an emaciated/dumpy look. Takara/Hasbro should take a lesson from Perfect Effect's Leonidas. Trypticon always had a zoids feel to it and Leonidas has that same feel. This trypticon would benefit from that feel.

Multiple ways of attaching the two components? Like you can have the tank underneath (as shown) or on top (sort of Energon Megatron like). The connection point doesn't appear to be similar to the CW ports or something you could attach a TM to
PredaConvoy
\"Sky Shadow next – This is a transformer with an added layer of puzzle to it.\"
… I wonder what they mean by that? That he\'s complex? Or just the multiple modes? Or that there are (hopefully) a few ways of combining the jet and tank elements?
Driftx3
Extrapolating the size, by using leader CW seekers as stand in, and comparing it to my big bots, and studying G1 Tryppy, I'd say that's gonna be as tall as Metroplex.
That said, holy shiz.
Robogeek28
Throw a lampshade on it and it'll be one heckuva major award.
