Sony will allow their Playstation Plus subscribers to download Transformers: Devastation for free on Playstation 4 all throughout the month of October.
Just last month, Sony unlocked the award winning indie videogame Journey on PS4 and this is the last week to grab it before Remastered Resident Evil 4 and Transformers: Devastation hit the digital market for free on October 4th.
“Next up is Transformers: Devastation. Drawing on the talents from the original Transformers TV series for the story and voice work, the game should feel pleasantly familiar to fans. Fabled developer PlatinumGames also delivers a fun and rewarding combat system with their signature fast-paced action. With your choice of five Autobots, get in there and battle against the Decepticons and Insecticons to save earth from Megatron’s evil plans.”
Full lineup for the month of October:
- Resident Evil, PS4
- Transformers: Devastation, PS4
- Mad Riders, PS3
- From Dust, PS3
- Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~, PS Vita
- Actual Sunlight, PS Vita

I hate digital distribution ,arghhhhh

Probably not, without buying the account of someone who already has the DLC. Activision lost the Transformers game license, so all their games were pulled from future sales.
At least with the console versions, the hardcopies of the game are still availiable.

Sorry for bringing the thread back, but I just bought a PS4 so I could play devastation which I just bought also . However I can’t find the DLC skins of red alert goldbug and nemesis prime . Now I see they removed it from the PS4 store . Is their any way I can get those? I was hoping to get those for my boy .

Lots of misinformation but as some people have said, PlayStation Plus works like this:
Each month, you get free games. You must use a PlayStation console (PS3, PS4 or Vita) or the Sony Entertainment Online PlayStation Store website to "buy" the games (for free). Then the free games are tied to your account. You have to purchase them that month though, else you miss your chance to get them for free, as the free games change each month.
Now, once you've purchased them, you can download them to your consoles at any time and play them. For free. HOWEVER, you absolutely need to retain your PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play your "free" games. If you don't have PlayStation Plus, your free PS+ games become "locked". Once you resubscribe, your games will unlock and you can continue playing.
Of course, this all requires an internet connection, so let me briefly explain how that plays into it. It's not always-online DRM. Basically, once you subscribe to PlayStation Plus and sign into PSN on a console, that console will sync up with PSN and learn how long your subscription has until it expires, and that will be set on your PS+ games, so you can then go offline and there will essentially be a ticking timer. Any time you add more subscription time, you have to connect to PSN with that console to update the "timer".
So, it's basically as non-intrusive as possible without actually giving you the free games permanently without a subscription, but you always retain all your free games, even when you don't have PS+ and they're locked/unplayable because of that.

Yup. Update is live.
Prime135
It's available now, just search the game in the store.
ex dtw2003
Yes, you have to wait for the weekly update to post.
ex dtw2003
Yes, after the weekly update which usually happens in the late afternoon/early evening eastern time. Has been known to drop earlier as well as late as 10PM.

I'm still getting last months games advertised, any idea how to get this months?

Do PS Plus games drop at a certain time? It's just after 8 am on the East Coast and it's still $40.

1) PS+ games are available on the first Tuesday of every month.
2) You can play any game you "purchased" through the program as long as your subscription is active. If you let it lapse, you can't keep playing. If you renew all your old games are playable once again.
What I am interested to know is whether my disc based save will work with the download.

The game's still not free as far as I can tell. I was just gonna download it but I guess it's still too early?
edit- Nevermind they're available on the 4th. Looking forward to finally playing Devastation.

Oh darn.. I think you might be right on this one. Only official digital, paid games downloaded in your PS4's library may be kept for good..

Correct, you only keep (this free copy at least) of the game for as long as you have Plus. If you drop Plus, you lose access (to the free copy at least – if you own another copy you bought outside of this, you can play that with or without Plus.) If you resume your Plus access again later, provided it's the very same account, you get the game (and all the other free ones you availed yourself of) back.

I don't think so..? I remember one of the detractors for PS Plus's "free games" things was that you couldn't keep them if you dropped your PS Plus account. It's kind of like Netflix for video games. You can enjoy it all you want as long as you pay the subscription. Once you stop paying for it, you can't play those games anymore. Doesn't matter if they have online modes or not.

This game was the game to finally get me to buy a PS4 and I haven't regretted it. If anyone is on the fence, definitely give it a shot. Especially if you're a fan of the Bayonetta games.
ElekTriC
Yes thats it. Thats what I thought

The game does not require Plus to play. Plus is only required for those planning to download it for free. If you buy a copy of it, you can play it regardless of whether you have Plus.
