Great news coming in from IndieWire.com, “Transformers: The Last Knight” is being shot using ARRI Alexa 65 6K cameras. The first film to use these remarkable cameras was in the film “Captain America: Civil War” and is being used to film Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” as well as “The Avengers: Infinity War” parts 1 and 2. So what does this mean to us every day movie goers? Expect to have a stunning visual experience for those who will watch the 5th instalment of the Transformers live action saga in Imax theaters.

What's wrong with the musical score?

Is it just me, or does this camera looks like a perfect Con spy?

I'm confused – I thought Bay was filming with a RED-Brand Camera instead of an IMAX Alexa. . .Methinks that the footage shot on the RED Bayhem camera (shown not too long ago) may be post-converted to ALEXA IMAX. . .

A director shouldn't worry about how their visual product should look visually? Okay then.

I was rather hoping the title read "Michael Bay to be shot with…"

That's good. Thats what I'm talking about. Camera upgrades. I wanna see a Transformers live action movie Arachnid shot with these new cameras.

Keep waiting.
I for one will be looking forward to the robots in the best stunning visuals.
Lockdown hunting down Ratchet in IMAX 3D was an unmatched experience.
These movies have so much visuals I'm sure it'll be worth the money.

So, a great camera and a great looking movie. What kind of technology will be used to improve the story and dialog, and what sort of lenses will improve the score? I don't want to be a cynic, but I think that if the director and story are strong enough they could shoot it with an 8mm camera and it would be good.

Oh
my
God.
Can we please stop bashing on Michael? Everything that has come out of the production news/social media shows they're trying their absolute damnedest to make sure this is the Transformers movie to beat the rest by a country mile. I am honestly a believer in the idea that if you give a director a good script and the right actors to work with, you'll have something great. Michael Bay has unfortunately only been lucky to have the other two with the Bad Boys movies, TF1, and The Rock, whereas it generally happens every time with directors like Martin Scorsese.
Let's just sit back and trust that it'll be good.

How about \"Transformers: The Last Knight to be shot using a good script and proven Director\" rather than worrying about how to make the explosions look better on screen.

Bay is a photography master. I'm looking forward to the stellar images he will produce with this new camera, even if it means the VFX may take longer to render.

Noice.
I've very much embraced ARRI ALEXA and their amazing camera tech. Especially when used to fantastic effect. Which in this case with the IMAX ALEXA , the maestro himself will use to great efficiency.

Was reading this article and saw that Transformers: The Last Knight will be shooting with ALEXA IMAX cameras. Civil War was the first to use them I believe. Just thought I'd share since I didn't see anything about it here and found it interesting.
‘Sully’: How Clint Eastwood Shot the ‘Miracle on the Hudson’ with IMAX Alexa 65
"Look for continued use of the IMAX Alexa 65 on Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” (November 4) and “The Avengers: Infinity War” two-part movies (2018 and 2019) and “Transformers: The Last Knight” (June 23, 2017)."
Edit: Some how I always mess up the title. You get what I mean though, LOL.
