Two new Transformers related commercials are currently airing in Australia.
One commercial is targeting the Collector Community with the new Titans Return toyline, while the other targets the Kids with the new Transformers: Robots In Disguise toyline featuring Power Surge Optimus Prime and Warrior Class Starscream.
Both commercials feature some excellent CGI.
Titans Return Official T.V. Spot
To control an ancient race of warriors the size of cities, the Autobots and Decepticons harness the power of Transformers Titan Masters, smaller bots that give bigger bots increased abilities in battles!
Power Surge Optimus Prime Official T.V. Spot
Hit the Decepticons with a super-charged attack with Power Surge Optimus Prime! The 11-inch tall figure comes with a Mini-Con Weaponizers Aerobolt figure and battles in 4 modes. It features pop-out cannons and wings, lights, phrases, and sounds – activated by attaching the included Aerobolt Mini-Con Weaponizers figure. Attach different Mini-Con Weaponizers figures (each sold separately) to activate different sounds.
Check ’em out, after the jump.

Yes sure advertise toys that aren't on any shelves. Big whoop.
SouthtownKid
Well, it is!
I'd love to see what whatever studio did this could do, given a writer, as compared to the abysmal CW thing we are struggling through at the moment.
And is that Jon narrating the RID commercial? Nice.
Vaguely surprised there are no Australian voices in these Australian commercials.
geezerman402
You have absolutely made my day!
Roufuss
Ditto — the commercial even features a kid as the one to change all the heads. Not sure what part of it really targeted the collector community at all.

"Autobots, we've got to find the Titan Masters! With their help, we can defeat the Decepticons!"
Or better still, make little comics that advertise the packaged toy with a bit of introdumping in there. Maybe with the Titan Master packs because their packaging is boring as all hell. They also don't even show the base modes of the leader-class figures.
"The Destrons are attacking! Transform Fortress Maximus!"
"Destrons, form Liokaiser and destroy Fortress Maximus!"

"More, Much More Than Meets The Eye" is what I would want a series of spin-offs focusing on the minor characters from IDW's MTMTE comic to be called. Never happened of course.
Sledgehammer
Surely it'd be:
"TITAN MASTERS TRANSFORMERS – THEY'VE GOT THE POWER TO SURPRISE!"
EDIT: Or (having just watched another 80s ad for Headmasters):
"TITAN MASTERS TRANSFORMERS – MORE, MUCH MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!"

I'd like to see some shots of the toys being fucking smashed through piles of rocks and gravel accompanied by a kid going "TAKETHATDECEPTICREEPS!" super fast, and a shot at the end of the bad guy toys getting knocked the hell off something by a spring-loaded missile of course, really take it back to the toy ads of 80's/90's, haha.
Bass X0
Would it hurt the announcer to sound more enthusiastic like we got back in the eighties?
"BEYOND! BEYOND ANYTHING YOU EVER SEEN BEFORE! TRANSFORMERS TITAN MASTERS!"
Something like that.
conleyh2006
I wish they aired more tf commercials on tv then maybe kids would be more into them
soundwaverulls
Awesome. I wish I could summon Optimus Prime like that kid in the RID commercial.
*sigh* So true.
Neither am I. Really odd thing to say on the front page.
combinerlover
Interesting .
marvel b
went WAY too fast for me……
WheelWave140
Damn, that animation is sexy.
MastaBlasta
Exactly. This confusion is what happened in CW.
Gryph
I still love the fact they're marketing Sentinel Prime as one of the good guys. I can imagine someone coming into the comics because of Titans Return and being totally confused.
Fallout
optimus has gone full knight templar here, jesus.
Jalaguy
It's not. It's targeting children.
There's a reason you can buy Generations figure at general retail and not just at comic shops and speciality stores like a lot of pop culture 'collector' merchandise.
nstanosheck
I'm not sure how that commercial is pinpointing the collector community.
SPLIT LIP
Obligatory: "This animation's better than the cartoon!"
Which can apply to both in this case.
