Hasbro have kicked off the Transformers portion of their San Diego Comic Con 2016 showing with their annual breakfast event. On show at the event are a selection of upcoming releases, a few of which may get some fans pumping their arms in the air in joy. On show are:
- Combiner Wars Liokaiser – new heads on all four Deluxes as well as the gestalt. Individual names are: Dezarus for the torso (Sky Lynx remold), Guyhawk for the pinkish jet, Fellbat for the blue jet, Ironbison for the tan colored tank, and Drillhorn for the blue drilltank. The Legends class accompaniment to the set is named Iron Scythe, and is a reuse of one of the Japanese Transformers Prime Arms Microns, specifically the one that came with Voyager Starscream. Fans also take note, Hasbro is being mindful of the legacy of Liokaiser as this set is explicitly being referred to as the Destrons!
- Titans Return Voyager Megatron with Doomshot – turns into a plane and a tank.
- Titans Return Legends Bumblebee – very Generation 1
- Titans Return Legends Gnaw the Sharkticon
- Titans Return Titan Master Overboard – Crashbash redeco as Generation 1 cassette Overkill
- Titans Return Titan Master Sawback – very interesting looking new mold, lion themed, Predacon colored.
- Robots in Disguise Clash of the Transformers 2016 TRU exclusive wave – Optimus Prime, Paralon, and Starscream – aka the ones released in Canada last week.
- Robots in Disguise Power Hero Starscream
- Robots in Disguise Legion class and Three Step Changer Bisk
- Transformers Alt Modes series 2 – featuring Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Sideswipe, Smokescreen, Bluestreak, and Acid Storm

I saved a lot of cash lately as some of these remolds are down right hideous.
(They like to bring out the lesser ver. of the molds first depending on the wave)
Sentinal Prime: Passed for the real purpose of the mold, Astrotrain.
Voyager Megatron: I will stick with excellent CW Leader Class Megatron…pass for Blitzwing.
Voyager Optimus Prime: That thing is downright hideous…. one would think after 30+ years they could finally articulate Octane\'s Tractor Trailer mold — Pass on any version of this mold.
Hot Rod: One of my favorite Autobots of all time but I passed on this one. His wheels are shoved all the way to the front and back of his alt. mode using unpainted whimpy thin tires. Despite using a Dome Zero alt. mode for Classics Hot Rod, I will stick with that ver.
Brakeaway: No interest in redeco of Chromedome this soon.
Broadside: 50/50 on the fence at the moment…..size morphing on that level eh.
Trigger Happy and Double Cross are awesome and I am definitely looking forward to Perceptor\'s wave.
I am stoked about Sixshot … never had a chance to see his G1 ver.
I had Twin Twist and really enjoyed him despite his silly transformation gimmick. I hope they do right by him,
I think it would have rocked if Titans Return had included all the master types under one banner. (Action Masters not so much)
Giving Galvatron a Targetmaster gun as his Titan Master would have been so much better…..but he is still one of my favorites of that wave.

Well, actually, notice that grey kibble behind prime's abdomen? Well, if viewed from the side (Like in picture 019 in this gallery), it shows he does have wings, they're just folded up.

I sure hope the possible Blitzwing functions better than the original. The shoulders pop out way too easily and the faces have started to tear apart from so many attempts to move them.

I disagree. Optimus Prime, Sentinel Prime and Megatron are only triple changers because the molds are designed to be the original 1985 Decepticon triple changers. I'm totally okay with that. Megatron looks to be a better mold than the previous Voyager Blitzwing but I think Apeface, Snapdragon and Broadside should be the next three voyager molds for Titans Return. Galvatron was already a triple changer in 1986, and Alpha Trion previously did not have an alternate mode, so he is free to be a triple changer now that they've finally made a transforming toy of his own.
OctaneNotTankor
-I like Sixshot.
-Megatron looks good, minus the jet mode. Alt modes are good for Blitzwing, not for him.*
-Optimus looks good, minus the jet mode. Alt modes are good for Octane, not him. Good Scourge, I hope, if I forget he has a jet mode.* This will make a not-so-good Octane. This has no wings, among other things. Will probably not bite on Octane when he comes out, and I do not invest in Optimus Prime toys.
-While I like the fact that they are doing Liokaiser, this is not acceptable. It's time for new molds, Hasbro! Sorry to blow your minds, but molds can be overused, and they have been.
*I see this everyone's-a-Headmaster-and-Triple Changer thing degrading to the characters who actually are Headmasters, Triple Changers, ETC. Since this bothers me, I'll just ditch this and hope that if something impresses me in the future, it'll be a pleasant surprise.

im wondering if they are going to remold the cannon for blitzwing. the big fusion cannon is megatrons thing if blitzy has it as well i dont think it makes that big of an impact

Wow. Honestly, I haven't been this impressed by a set of releases for quite some time. Kind of hilarious how Megatron has so much of Blitzwing's molding, down to the lines on the feet of Blitzwing's cartoon model.
I'm really digging the Sixshot. Making the legs telescope instead of hinge is an interesting choice, but with the larger nosecone pieces being better-integrated than the original it works well and actually improves some things (like the hood of the armored car mode, even if it sticks out a lot further from the wheels than the G1 version). It's not super-fancy, what with the fists not being all that hidden, but I like that the wolf mode has more of a neck now, even with the cockpit being on the underside of it (and no real articulation at the base of the skull, boo).
I can't shake the feeling that they could have done more with the rear wolf leg kibble to make them more wolflike, and I'm still waiting to see the paired set of rifles which turn into a wolf tail, but even so, this is a really nice update to the original toy.
As for all the complaints about Op and Megs being obviously repaints-in-waiting… well, it saves money to make them repaints, and of course they're being released ahead of Blitzwing/Octane – you can't have the faction leaders being released later down the line as mere repaints of C-list characters! No, they must be part of the first wave, using designs which have never been seen before! …and then, once the kids have bought the living heck out of them, then it's safe to roll out the colors that the fandom's been anticipating. Gotta get your profit back on the tricky designs, folks.
(Speaking of repaints, I wonder if there's room for a multi-mode Apeface/Optimal Optimus/Primal Prime/Octane-or-Tankor/Oilmaster design? OK, none of those characters are exactly A-listers in the Aligned continuity at the moment, but it couldn't hurt to have a five-character spread for a four-mode toy.)

thank you

when can we expect the new Titan Masters to come out ? I really want to get Sawback
Lord Dcast
I have a strong and sad feeling that Legion Windblade will get retooled into Starscream.
Ratchets Hatch
Ah.
Knightsword
That is a gun for Titanmasters to sit in most deluxes and voyagers have one.
Jalaguy
Those are Warriors, not Legends.

The mold screams Blitzwing. Almost as much as the Sentinel Prime mold screams Astrotrain. This seems to be Hasbro's newest sales tactic. Release the repaint first, then release the character the mold was actually made for.
I'm glad, too, because this mold looks miles better than the awful mess known as 30th Anniversary Blitzwing. Everyone who bought that disaster should have gotten a refund and a written apology.
I do like this mold as Megatron, though I wish they had done everything in that darker gunmetal grey instead of two different shades. Also, what the hell is that hollow-looking piece of plastic on the side of his tank mode? If it's supposed to be a gun, the design team failed miserably.
I'm also digging the Legends Starscream. May have to pick him up. The new design has grown on me.
Autovolt 127
Two theories on that.
1.) Hasbro got fed up of the Transmissions leaks so they decided to hold off for a bit on releasing them.
2.) Cybertron Con is this weekend, they may have wanted to save some stuff for that. China is the bigger market for them ultimately.
magnus91
I'm not sold on Megatron, those stickers look out of place and he looks very "plastic-y" and what's with the cannon? Top half is hollow. Pass
Death333
Gnaw = sold
Megatron: man, I like and I'll buy it but if they announce a Blitzwing repaint I'll be saving my money for that instead.

Are Monsterarts ever shown at Comic-con?
I don't know what there really is to be shown in regards to Monsterarts: it seems pretty clear to me that they've decided to play it safe with the line and focus on different iterations of Godzilla rather than other monsters.
WishfulThinking
Yeah, Transformers toys really didn't make the big splash I expected they would.
Gnaw: Best reveal.
Bumblebee & Megatron: Nice to see but just more toys in the litany of toys of those characters we already own.
Titanmasters: Nice but no WOW.
Brainstorm: Nice to hear he'll be available at Walgreens, I guess.
Lio Kaiser: Just a better look at something we knew was coming and had kind of seen before, thanks to a prior "oops".
Prime, Sixshot and Fangry: An "oops" that will make us feel the same way about Lio Kaiser when these get full reveals. They really should have been at the show. Sixshot would have been the talk of the town.
