Thanks to hobby.dengeki.com, we have some new, clear images of Takara Legends Rewind and his Titanmaster partner, Nightbeat! Featuring some very nice screen-accurate paint jobs, the pair seem to be just what fans of the G1 and Headmasters cartoons are looking for in terms of detail, especially if we’re to get the rest of Nightbeat down the road.
LG-28 Rewind and Nightbeat are up for pre-order via our sponsors for about $17.99 USD and are slated for release some time in September this year, so be sure to grab yours and check out the pics after the jump!

It's a complete non-starter as Nightbeat. I would have to wonder at who okeyed that expression for production thinking it was an acceptable representation of the Character.

Rewind is really bland looking to be honest.
I'm really hoping we get a Minerva down the line. (fullbody of course)
PredaConvoy
They could do what they have done with all the Legends Deluxe HMs thus far, and used the existing head but with a remolded face. I hope they surprise us with characters like Minerva down the line. I want lots of wee Nebulans, they're like the Mighty Max of Transformers city playsets!
jamarmiller
that looks pretty good
Piceez
I modded a piece from the Hasbro Nightbeat vehicle so that the head would fit on the Generation One torso snugly and still be able to turn and look up.

I may need to get Rewind as well now, but those stickers…….
SouthtownKid
But there's no way they could have turned that Nightbeat into Minerva with that facial expression. They'd have to start from scratch anyway. That Nightbeat is a complete non-starter as a Minerva.
GizmoTron
Because after the specifically changed Siren into GoShooter for his Legends release because that's the character Japan knows, it's kind of weird that they decided to still release a Nightbeat instead of the obvious Minerva.
Not only that, but it's odd that this Nightbeat is toy based and not based on any of his comic or other media appearances from which Takara usually takes it's design ques.
Overall this remains just a very strange release.
SouthtownKid
After seeing the changes made for Super Ginrai, it feels like anything is possible. If not for this line, then maybe for the next. But yeah, I want Goshooter, Minerva and Cab something fierce.
jamarmiller
I am going to be super disappointed in Hasbro and takara if a Minvera is not done in this line.
SouthtownKid
Yeah, I was surprised, too. But glad, because Blaster is one of the few cases where I like the Budiansky comics version of the character more than the cartoon character (other than his taste in music. Blaster being into heavy metal seems totally out of place, but whatever).
Ah, yeah. I'm not super wild about Nightbeat's game face, either.

My bad. I was floored by the appalling Not-Nightbeat-but-Tigatron-having-a-dump head.
Haywired
Looks great, but I don't think there are enough differencies between Hasbro and Takara Rewinds (and I think I prefer face paint on Hasbro's).
Unfortunately it looks like Takara also went with stickers instead of tampos. Oh, well…
Marvel Comics Blaster looks splendid. Though I'm still suprised that Marvel's head design was used for this line.
PredaConvoy
I'd really like to see Loudmouth/Siren's head in the Nightbeat colour scheme released with the body/vehicle later on, and vice versa. Could be an easy retool of the Chromedome/Getaway toy, I'd settle for that. Also: Where's Hosehead in all this? Poor, unloved Quig.
SouthtownKid
For Marvel Blaster? Um…yep.
motorthing
Um……dat face?
Nope.
SouthtownKid
Not to Marvel Comics fans.

Yeah, that news article probably wants rewording.
Nightbeat is toy-accurate, because getting Nightbeat's toy imported as "Minerva Nightbeat" is the only experience with him that Japan ever had.
His robot mode just seems to be intended to vaguely evoke Nightbeat's full size robot mode, though all the black on the legs is a little odd…
He's got Siren's head in that commercial, just like basically all his media appearances.
