Amazon Japan has updated with some great, clear new photos of the upcoming Takara Legends LG-31 Fortress Maximus!
These images show off all of his various different modes and the changes made from his Titans Return counterpart. Unfortunately though, any weaponry he may be coming with – such as the Master Sword – is still not shown in these photos. We’ll be sure to update you with any developments on that.
In the meantime though, we’ve attached all the pics to this news post for you to check out after the break!

If only we lived in a perfect world where takara can still be creative

Any mods to the sound chip needs to be checked out in the Radicons section or just kindly ask any savvy board members. I would love to have the awesome Japanese voice clips incorporated into the SDCC version..that would be a treat.

I mean if you know how sound bytes work then you could do whatever you wanted but I don’t sadly. If I could then I would absolutely go with the sdcc version since the colour breakup is great.

Yeah. Different Prefrences. In the end the SDCC version's paint combo won me over. I too liked the Japanese voice clips. But I could only get one version due to space issues. Lol. Who knows I might plunk down the cash for Legends Fort Max one day.

I was thinking about it, but I got turned off cause the Japanese one has the headmasters riff

In the end the SDCC one was what I went for. Absolutely no regrets.

I have both the Hasbro and TT version and I agree that I like the latter more. The colours really do make a difference for me.
Only drawback is the lack of handheld guns and the iconic hip canons.

This needs to be a trend or a thread. Toys play with themselves!… maybe think of a better name

I took the Legends Fort Max, who in my opinion has a much superior deco, and gave him the opening legs of the Hasbro Fort Max so I can have a better Titan Master base (even better when I get the stickers for them). Also, Fortress himself looks so much better than Cerebros. My son has the Hasbro Fort Max with the Legends legs. (He doesn't care about the opening legs).

Its slightly more pricey but the Takara seems worth it. More features and homages to G1..but I'll see how ut goes at month end with my budget. Thanks guys for all the inputs…made me less doubtful now on which Fort Max I will end up buying!

If you are a G1 fan then go with the Legends Fortress Maximus. I have both Fortress Maximus's, the G1 and the Legends version. The Legends is much better homage to the original figure and the Headmasters series then the Hasbro versions. The red just looks bad but due to gun laws they have to make those cannon that color to pass child safety laws in the U.S.. The great thrills are the sounds effects which are just awesome in Japanese and the Headmasters Theme song is a added bonus!!! Oh and the Sword just makes him look menacing.

G1 toy scheme..weirdly enough.

Takara's is closest to the original toy also.
SouthtownKid
Which version of the character are you most connected to? Sunbow G1 is the Hasbro release, Takara G1 is the Takara release (natch), and the SDCC is a kind of weird Frankenstein middle thing that seems to reference nothing.

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread.. but seeing as I haven't gotten any version of this toy yet, which one would be more worth it for my money?
Im heavily conflicted either between the SDDC version and the Takara LG31 one… help!

They are fine, I agree, I own them all. But they do occasionally not lock into place and flap open, and he is still a tad wobbly (Hasbro and SDCC) – but my TakTom version is more solid. However, I would sacrifice that extra stability for the extra functionality.
I must stress – I paid top dollar for the TT version and I do not feel robbed by the lack of opening calves. I feel robbed by the paint chips and scratches on the nose and forehead, though!
All the best

Presumably for extra stability despite the fact that every other version of this mold is fine.

And when they did, the legs were a floppy mess. I don't recommend doing it.
Robogeek28
Was it ever figured out why the legs were glued together in the first place?
SouthtownKid
Don't do it…
If you need the open leg base modes, splurge and get the Hasbro version. But don't wreck your expensive Takara figure trying to do it.
