For many years Hasbro and Paramount titled the Michael Bay Transformers Live Action Movies as a Series.
Today, during the Jefferies 2016 Consumer Conference; which TFW2005 participated live, Hasbro officially renamed the series as…
Transformers Cinematic Universe
CEO Brian Goldner showed the title of Transformers: The Last Knight as well as placeholder logos of Transformers 6 and Transformers 7.
Mr. Goldner also stated that the Marketing and Product Teams are working very hard to bring the content to the shelves. He also stated that Hasbro is now the storyteller of the Transformers movies with the help of the Writers’ Room; a reversal of the role where usually the Production Studio tells the story. He also visited Michael Bay last week to discuss the 5th Movie.
You can check out several slides which were shown during the presentation, after the jump.

To be fair they did blame a lot issues with ROTF on that writers strike and Bay claimed that there were vast improvements the 3 try so I took the fam to see DOTM on the strength of that. Plus Shock looked pretty cool (That and Space-Case were the last Movie-verse toy I ever purchased). But what we got was more of the same… And Shockwave was reduced to being a petty henchmen with no real value.
So Never again Paramount Stockholders! Never Again!!!

The other ones I went into with hope for various reasons-
RotF: "I liked the first movie. I bet this will be good too."
DotM: "Well anything will be better than that last movie which totally didn't happen."
Aof: "They say they're trying something new, and some of my favorite reviewers said it was alright."
Although the last two still had the underlying feeling of, "Ah fuck it, I'm bored. Let's go see how bad the new TF movie is."
I was very close to boycotting the last movie but this year I'm sticking to my guns. If I want to review it later I'll watch it on netflix or putlocker or something.

We've had Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction but this is what makes you walk away?

I'm sure as hell not watching anymore of the TF bay movies in theaters.
YoungPrime
Pfft they've done just about everything you can think of wrong with this franchise. Then they wait until they're 5 films in to decide to create a cinematic universe….yeah right after they've slaughtered most of the good characters that people care about (not that the name of said character ever really matches the source material in the first place) thus painting themselves in a corner.
More than a 3rd of the people who use to support this crap in the US have said nevermind to the last one. The odds of these films continuing to be successful as packed as Summers are moving forward aren't as great as they us to be.
YoungPrime
Yeah the IDW comics are way more maturer than Bays crap is IMO. H3ll the WFC and FOC games are more mature. It's in no ways "psycho" to state this but when Bayformers fans and playing damage control/PR for Bayformers it's clearly in their best interest to dismiss the distinctions of better TF lines (To them anyway).

If Pixar could do WALL-E a robot that barely speaks and make it work, why cant Hasbro do the same with Bumblebee, who in turn can be developed more futher in his own solo outing.
YoungPrime
I disagree, it's more like comparing a Whoper (MCU) to a White Castle burger (Bay-formers).
Again Marvel is in no way perfect but when you look at the history of Bayformers seeing that the practically begged Bay to make the film and when you see/read interviews of the previos main cast even bashing the films. What leg do Bayformer supporters have to stand on????
Nitpicking Marvel's minor flaws don't magically exonerate any of Bay's crap anyway.
Also LOL @ the guy calling the Marvel Netflix Villains forgetable Kingpin, Purpleman and The Hand have been unanimously praised by Critics and Moviegoers alike!
If you like Bays crap fine, do you! But this ongoing debate of MCU vs Bay's crap is like comparing Beethoven to Auto-tune.

So much for a reboot in the foreseeable future. I guess I won't be seeing any more tf movies in the teen. How are they going to make a movie about a character that has said 1 line in 4 movies and his characterisation can be summed up as, he is a good guy? Unless we are following more human characters who are we going to be following in these other tf movies?
Hanzkaz
Hm, I suppose Marvel could do with more interesting villains, but personally, I haven't had too much of an issue with most of them. I do still think that Marvel did try to flesh them out a bit more than many of the ones in the TF movies.
I suppose it's also that because Marvel got so much right with their overall approach (imho), I'm a bit more forgiving. I really can't say the same about the Transformers movieverse, where for a good chunk of the time I was left wondering 'What the **** were they thinking?'.

It's dumb to dismiss the merits of something just because it was marketed to children or made with the intent of appealing to them. Normal people understand that Steven Spielberg is a good director and Jurassic Park is a good movie despite the fact that I loved it when I was ten and wanted one of those T-Rex toys with battle damage.
Kyle Blues
Not really. It depends on who you talk to. Usually I talk to other nerds or artists who enjoy there own fandoms, and some of them understand what it's like to have one part of a franchise not well represent the rest of it.
Even when they don't I just explain myself to them and they eventually get it. I just simply say there are other series and forms of transformers media that are much more enjoyable and less… cringe-worthy. Then again most of the people I talk to usually agree that the bay movies are pretty ridiculous, even the one's who enjoy them as popcorn flicks.
Megatron118
Pretty much. It's alright though, we know the difference and that's what matters. If "normal" people don't understand that there can be a variety of continuities within a large franchise, that's their problem. And refusing to even somewhat see the difference doesn't make them less geeky or more cool—or whatever they perceive themselves as—it just makes them more close-minded.
But to avoid the confusion and subsequent explanation, when people ask what franchises I'm into, I usually tell them Star Wars and Halo, despite Transformers being slightly ahead at number one. Because the former aren't ridiculed nearly as much.

Before I go any further, I just wanted to say I am very, very, truly, TRULY sorry for my behaviour towards some users I disagreed with yesterday. It was not the right way to respond. My emotions got the better of me. And I should've just left it instead of perpetuating it to a point where it shouldn't have. And I am not proud of it.
As much as I enjoy posting on here, I'm gonna take a break for a while. I'll still see the news but you won't find me commenting much. Thanks to those who I love and respect and support for agreeing with me anyway even though I do not condone my later posts on here.
Now to the subject at hand: As I say as usual, bring it on! Bring on the TRANSFORMERS CINEMATIC UNIVERSE!
SouthtownKid
Of course they don't. Because to normal people, there is no difference. Transformers Animated, for example — as great as is it, and as much as almost all of us can agree is infinitely better than the Bay movies in terms of character or story — comes off as no less childish and silly than the Bay movies to a normal, non-fan human being. If anything, it's the opposite. To them, the cartoon would seem even more juvenile and silly.
And it goes that way for everything that every TF fan loves to believe exists on so removed a plateau. If you could somehow strap some non-fan down to a chair and FORCE them to read one of the MTMTE volumes everyone here is always creaming about — which would be impossible to do anyway — they wouldn't perceive any difference whatsoever in story quality or sophistication. Because it's still kid stuff Transformers to a normal person.
I don't think people realize how psycho they sound to normal people when they try to evangelize one form of Transformers as being more adult than another.

While Transformers actually suits a cinematic universe I really dislike how this only came about from Hasbro taking the idea from Marvel rather than simply doing this from the start. But that's people for you.
Megatron118
While I will always love Bayformers for bringing me into the franchise, I do share your sentiments about telling others about Transformers. I always have to explain to my friends at college that there are other continuities than the movies, and even then they tend to not share my views (not in a bad way, they just blow it off—no harm no foul). But it is indeed frustrating.

That was a beautiful post.

Say what you want.
but if Hasbro actually wanted to "tell great stories" they would start over and not make action flicks with poor writers that only appeal to the lowest common denominator in order to pull in cash.
Don't read this next part if you are sensitive about opinions. Especially ones that could differ from yours. I'm looking at YOU twelve-year-old Jeffery
