Third party company Generation Toy has updated their weibo page with new images of their upcoming classics-scaled modernized take on Jazz! Sporting a sleek Porsche alt mode, “J4ZZ” seems to be a mix of the many incarnations of the Autobot Jazz with some grade-A articulation and detail, silver paint, and includes his handgun and two shoulder-mounted guns.
No pre-orders or prices have been listed yet, but they’re sure to start popping up soon, so stay tuned to TFW for more news on J4ZZ. In the meantime, check out the pics after the jump and share your thoughts in the discussion below!

I'm looking to sell my small Jazz collection which includes a J4ZZ. I know they're not easy to come by, and mine is still in one piece, having never been transformed. If someone's looking for a few Jazzes including J4ZZ, check the BST link in my sig.

Same here. Had him since the beginning, transformed twice I think. Picked him today to mess with, and the bottom half just fell off. Gonna try some modeling glue…
Zentropy
Awesome! Love that design. That’s one that’s been on my must-have list for a while. Great find, and I hope your repairs hold up!

For my collection. Bought it from another board member. Got a good price since it was broken. Everybody so far has said they just glued it and it's held for them so hopefully the same is true for me. He's currently in a clamp letting the glue cure.
I don't normally go in for modernizations of G1 characters but Jazz is one of my favorite autobots, it's a damn cool looking figure, and I'm a total slut for pearl-white paint. Passed him up back in the day for not being G1 enough (and I didn't have as much extra fun budget back then) and I've regretted it so I'm glad to finally add him to my collection. Also magnet doors are awesome and I wish more Transformers did it.
[Edit] Took the clamp off and it's holding. Gonna give him 24 to fully cure before I put any stress on his hips but I'm pretty damn happy with him. Not a great photo and terrible lighting – I want to dig downbeat out of storage one of these days and line them up with Jive, Hova, G1 Jazz, Earthrise, Newage, and Magic Square for a full on Jazz-a-thon photo. Only one I'm missing is Toyworld/Zeta but iirc that's the one that has the goofy misspelled racing livery so he was an easy pass.

Damn, that's a sexy bot.
Zentropy
Are you fixing it for your collection, for someone else, or planning to sell it?

Just got a broken J4zz for repair. Can anybody tell me how the rubber squares work? He seems mostly complete without them but the hips are super loose. The holes are the right size for his hip joints so I assume they go over them but I can't figure out assembly with them on.
[Edit] Figured it out. Curved divots inward (they're contoured to the screw posts) with the indented end toward the back. They go over the hip posts and sit on the inside of the waist when assembled.

J4zz is really a cool figure. Although limited in several aspects, the design is great (IDW inspired), and barring several issues that should be addressed (hips breaking), I really think he deserves a new run. I'm keeping both, though I do think that in the long run I prefer Jive owing to better articulation. J4zz Could do with some more faces, but that's not happening.
Zentropy
Yeah, I wish GT would reissue this figure instead of “dirty” Protectobots.

J4zz still holds up quite well…looks great as a contrast between pure G1 toon (well as close as we have at the moment) and the early naughts IDW/classics leaning look. i wonder if any super jazz fans could have this shot and add downbeat, hova, and jazzy into the shot. lol. also FT REALLY should have use a separate "lens" for the foglight. the painted white plastic there looks a bit "mainline" on an MP shelf.

I didn’t get into 3P until just a few years ago, and I’m a really big fan of figures that have a more modern/comptorary look compared to slavish G1 accuracy, something this figure does quite well.
Zentropy
Same. It’s on my want list, for sure.
Purple Heart
I wish I could have gotten one of these.

Great pic
Maybe it is just because I love IDW 1.0, but I like the IDW one better.

With FT-48 Jive.

This unfortunately is very common with him. The good news is that you can superglue it together, and it actually holds very well (happened to me and several others, you may want to peruse this thread). Still, shame that this happens, cause I like this toy a lot.
However, I don't think they had this issue since then, so the protectobots should be good (knock on wood).

I was able to use some gorilla glue on mine, good as new now.

Please let me know what screws and where you got them if you decide to do it.
Falco
Disassembled mine to see what it looks on the inside and yeah, the same part has already developed some serious cracks. There is no breakage yet but it will be only a matter of time. I'm considering drilling the holes deeper and use longer screws if I can find any.
Additionally, most of the pins on my J4zz started to rust. It's especially prominent on the one at the small flap that covers the hole in front of his head.
Xkcer Man
Happened to lots of these figures. Good news is you can still get a decent alt mode out of it.

Ohhh that's not good. I wasn't aware GT was using weak plastic in anything prior to Defensor. I am afraid to check my Jazz now.
