Next weekend, Audiovisuals ICAIC (Cuban Film Institute) will offer a new cinematographic service to foreign film production, in this case, for the U.S. film Transformers 5, directed by Michael Bay for Paramount Pictures.
According to Granma newspaper, the shooting will take place in Havana by a small film crew and will not require road closures, so it should not cause disruption to normal city life.

This is probably the best chance yet of Bee turning into an old VW beetle.
Bumblethumper
Yes, put me down for some of that. Lots of that. Then make toys of it Hasbro.

Interesting

Sweet! Old classic car TFs was the first thing I thought too. I fell in love with that one show "Cuban Chrome" last year, where they fix old cars with whatever parts they can find or make, and I've always wanted more classic car bots, this would be perfect!

Why can I see visions of Crosshairs hanging around making deals with the locals? "What's in it for me?"
Anyone else think we'll get a Pitbull cameo or robot dance montage?
Trip2boy
Interesting. Hey, I'm Cuban, so TFs in Cuba works, even if it's the collision of total opposites.
Fallout
kup would probably be a shiny new GMC truck with a tongue piercing or some shit, lol.

If they are filming in Cuba then they better damn well have one of the robots transform into one of the classic cars that still roll on the Cuban streets. Yes Cuba has lots of locations that will look fantastic thanks to latest in film cameras, but a film like Transformers just can't pass up on those cars.

Sexy cuban ladies gracing the screen on a Michael Bay film? Can he resist?

Forget d-bot island…first thing I thought of when I heard Cuba was 'I'll be severely disappointed if we don't get a bot with a classic alt mode.'
fathi_haziq
That's a Buick Electra.

I think it would be interesting if the robots that have integrated into society are the Decepticons that weren't present in the Battle of Chicago in DOTM. You know, the ones that were in other parts of the world releasing the pillars. And now they've integrated into society because they've accepted the fact that there's no way they can get to Cybertron and they still believe Megatron is dead because they have no idea about his return as Galvatron.

Let hope Michael Bay doesn't do a Michael Bay thing and just thought of cuba as a great place for Kup to get his cigars.

Interesting.
Viva Cuba!

Yes please. Yes.

Oh hell yeah! I love those old yanks! What's that white one? It looks like Christine, I think she was a Plymouth Fury. A gang of unruly Autobots with those alt modes is a wonderful idea!
Blot
I'll take toys of each. Thanks.
ichnach
hmmm, how much you wanna bet one of those kickass old cars is a cuban sounding hotrod?

I'm sure it's more about the normalization of relations now that the embargo's been lifted for the first time in about half-a-century.
They're probably getting TONS of tax incentives and stuff for filming there, just like they have in Detroit and Chicago, and that's where the REAL business smarts come into the picture, so to speak. Looking forward to seeing more of Cuba in movies like this in the future! It really is a beautiful, beautiful country.
