What I find lame is that it is diecast and no stock. Why not painted plastic with a stock? I love diecast on a figure, but why make a weapon out of diecast? It seems really arbitrary. It would make a good game piece in a Transformers Monopoly set though.

Wow very interesting but my theory on this fig will be darker paint.
now when I first seen this fig I was all in but after finding out he was kinda short and pastel toon purple I than caved for quakewave darker taller and better.that price is horror but if paint is darker it is much more attractive …

You could find someone to paint it for you if you look. A fellow member had hers done to look like a toy version and it's awesome.

Is there any chance or rumor that a different Shockwave may be issued with this die-cast Megaton-gun accessory?

I still wish Takara would make a G1 toy-accurate dark PURPLE MP Shockwave, since I will not buy a lavender-wave. There are not many TF fans like me, who prefer to have more toy-accuracy in the Masterpiece line, but absolute cartoon-accurate slavishness doesn't always make for a better figure. That's why I prefer MakeToys G1-toy inspired Hellfire over Takara's MP Inferno, though his ladder-folding engineering is impressive.

What are the chances of a USA TRU Exclusive toy-accurate MP Shockwave happening anyway? It's a purple alien-robot ray-gun, and isn't anything threatening or realistic to cause alarm or conflict with gun-laws, but I won't hold my breath waiting for a US release. I never thought that the new MP Starscream, MP10, or the MP cars would be released here at all, yet they were, so maybe it's not so far fetched.

Come on HasTak make a perfect G1-toy homage MP Shockwave, and throw in whatever extras you can think of. (I wouldn't mind one of his glass-dome-headed security drones made as a purple-rubber or die-cast mini-fig.)
