Via TFW2005 boards member daimchoc and @chromless, we have our first look at the prototype for Takara’s Masterpiece Inferno! Only shown in robot mode so far, Inferno is, as you would expect, extremely faithful to his G1 cartoon depiction.
Check out the pics after the break, and let us know your thoughts in the discussion thread! And be sure to keep and eye out, as we’ll update you with all the Masterpiece news as it comes in.
Update: We’ve received more shots via @azllad, @MASABON2011, and @singgg4. Take a look!

I've posted a tutorial for installing KFC KP-14ND hands onto MP Inferno and Grapple. Here are the photos; for the instructions, check out my page here:

Good to know it can be done. I tried it and realised there would have to be some modding, so have been waiting patiently for KFC's usual MP hand upgrades for them. But it is certainly beginning to look as if dedicated articulated hands might not happen (perhaps because of Dante, hard to tell. ibot did say that XTB/KFC were moving away from articulated hands on newer figures, so that could also apply to upgrades for officials I guess).

Awesome! That means KFC black hands for Thundercraker/Ramjet/Thrust/Acid Storm should be a good color match for Masterpiece Artfire.
So no issues with securely holding the gun?
No issues affecting transformation?
Does the modding have to be done to any part of the actual figure or just the KFC hands?
You may have a good point about KFC's decision about hands specifically for this mold.
Looking forward to your detailed tutorial.
Thanks.

Just putting this out there. KFC MP-11ND hands for Dirge CAN be modded for Inferno and Grapple. I may be wrong, but I am guessing that KFC may not want to make posable hands for Inferno and Grapple because it may affect sales of XT Dante & DaVinci. Anyways, the color is very close. I'd say 97-98% color match. I'll post tutorial and answer questions later this weekend!

I did. Don't worry I have an official as well. My ko is pretty durable with no qc issues cosmetically or structurally. The face even has more of a shiny silver tint which I like.

Haha, no (but the thought that this could be a ko did cross my mind ).
[Wing_Saber-X]
Did you buy a KO??

So I finally decided to get this guy (after tiring of waiting to see XTB's Dante) but unfortunately, I got a masterpiece of imperfections. I haven't even transformed him.
Here are two example's:

From what I've read here, mine seems to be a somewhat unique case because it's mostly scratches (and a few paint spillovers). I only recollect @Maz telling about paint wear happening over time; overall I was under the impression Inferno was pretty much perfect qc wise.
I bought him from baba, is this maybe a second batch with problems…Is this possible? Can anybody chip in with their thoughts? And how has he kept up? Because now I have the option to either go for a refund or get Artfire instead (who looks stunning but isn't Inferno ).
Thanks in advance.

Where can I buy these?

Thanks man!

Putting it out there but if anyone wants to buy spare Artfire legs and arms for their Inferno instead of going the Eness decal route shoot me a PM

I fail to see how that looks better. I almost never view these from the back, I would love to have real world detailing, but I think they made the right decision for accuracy. Can't always have it both ways.
The figure is pure sex.
ChromeMagnus
I guess it was bound to happen eventually.
KO Inferno???

For me, it's the difference between decals and stickers. I've never liked the look and feel of stickers on an MP—they just feel cheap. Maybe it's my memories of all the stickers on my toys back as a kid eventually peeling, but I can't bring myself to use them.
Decals, on the other hand, blend with the surface of the toy far better then paper stickers and I'm quite happy to use them. I love how much more awesome they made my Smokescreen and Exhaust.
I wish Ocean would release more decals with some real world details for Inferno, Grapple, etc. I think they have one for Ratchet, but I've had trouble finding examples of it in use.

It really depends on how you feel about it. Usually I don't get entire label sets unless it contains some labels that really enhance the figure like in MP Inferno/Grapple case IMO. I usually just get Reprolabels' faction symbols and rub sign symbols. I like the faction symbols for 3P MPs or KO MPs that don't have faction logos on them.
XXLMagnus
any other MPs really benefit from sticker treatment w/o looking cheap? I've only mustered courage to apply the ones for MP Smokescreen …
ChromeMagnus
I couldn't take it anymore. MP Inferno's alt mode back side is just too plain! After having MP Artfire in hand and observing the alt mode tampos it has, I came to the conclusion that I needed to get an MP Inferno label set from Toyhax/Reprolabels. So that's what I did.
