Final product and packaging images are starting to surface of the Masterpiece inspired project dubbed Spinout. Designed as a homage to the G1 character Sunstreaker, this figure by third party group Omnigonix has been watched by several anxious collectors for awhile now. The wait is seemingly almost over as we can expect shipping notices any day now.
Discuss the new images after the jump in our discussion thread.

Sorry for the necrothreading, but I saw this, and there was really only one place I could post it.

It should have been the collector card this came with.

I don't like official. Three things. Backpack, buttflap and that headsculpt – for me it's just awful. There is a room for improvement. We just compare official with atrocious Spinout and unknown company who produced only one figure. And BadCube. Sorry I've never liked their aesthetics. Today XTB and especially FT could blow great Sunstreaker out of water.

I actually really love the official figure. Even if FT’s was (slightly) better, I don’t think I’d ever shell out the money for what I would personally consider a side-grade. I mean, stranger things have happened, so we’d have to see.
And me too. About being surprised this thread still pops up sometimes. The worst of the worst XTB stuff gets shit on so hard and those threads rarely pop up as much as this one seems to do. Again, glad the people who are happy with it are happy with it — but the whole thing was major hot garbage all around for me (again, personally).
I really don’t see anyone making a upgrade worthy Sunny. Maybe FT. But yeah — to me, the official is leagues and bounds better than both 3P attempts.

THis is one of the few instances where official beat out 3rd party….by a lot!!

Originally, I did the mods, got the 3d printed add-on parts, and made an improved head using ears from a CHUG streaker… and I love him to this day. I still can't stand the Erkel-pants of the official or that sad little Badcube figure, and it would take a well-done FT (or other 3P) to make me take this guy off my main shelf. Sure, the QC was hot garbage, but it's all about how much you like the underlying figure whether or not it's worth the time and effort to get him up to par. For me, it's still the only good-looking option out there. I even bought a second one on clearance back in the day, but I don't know where I stashed it…

Nah, the next version we see (probably FT's?) will be done by someone not beholden to Takara's Lamborghini license. They'll be able to skip the utterly useless "stock" Lamborghini and cut down massively on the backpack. Then just slim the torso down a bit and clean up the side of the calves and Takara's will be left in the dust.
Takara's is good for what it is, and I fully admit it won me over once I had it in hand, but it will be relatively easy for a 3P to surpass it.
As for Omni's… urrgh. Never liked the design with the massive chest, shin greeblies or the awful head sculpt. The QC issues just totally killed it. But for those who wanted a toy style Sunstreaker, it's kind of the only opton they had.
I still get surprised when I see this thread pop up again.
ServO
Yup it's just a regular MP Sunstreaker with the faux windows chopped and the chest flipped.
I bought it from someone's sales thread here on the boards…thought it looked cool and wanted to check it out.
Pun-3X
Looks like a customized MP (or MPKO) Sunstreaker, with the faux window parts removed (and the car roof flipped forward). If I could do it without breaking them I'd try that. Even as faux parts go, I hate how they all sit "flat" instead of angling towards the body more.
I'd almost just have Spinout instead, but the multitude if QC issues makes it a zero-chance.

What's the one on the left?
Laulau
Hey ! What did you do with the MP sunstreaker chest ? I considered getting MP Cordon at some time but wasn't sur I could hide the faux chest and use the real roof instead.
Now that I see that, I could need to find one.

Dammit all these posts are making me want to get one again…has anyone seen one for a reasonable price?
ServO
I still have my Spinout, and I still love it!

The neck was the downfall for me. Miy figure litterly fell apart and became a loose pile of shit.
Redinferno77
I recommend the additional piece for the neck, it stabilizes it… it's difficult to find that, yes, there was also another piece for the waist… but I didn't get to buy it at the time, most of its problems are fixed with glue and with Kiki to stiffen joints… it's a great figure and with the reprolabels it has a more G1 toy look.

Omnigonix Spinout is my Sunstreaker. I never wanted absolute toon accuracy, even with the QC issues Spinout still comes out on top.
G.I.EDDIE
If you can find them, the pieces certainly don't hurt. There is one thing that *you* can easily do that helps with poseability a lot. Simply notch out the back inside corners of the thighs so that they clear the pelvis. This gives clearance so that the thighs can rotate for a more natural stance.

All the QC issues and personal aesthetic preferences aside, I guess this figure is the only attempt so far at a real G1 toy homage. Both BC Sunsurge and the official MP are toon inspired, the latter even more so. Looking back that's worthy of praise. And this comes from a toon guy and happy owner of MP39.
Honesty
Designer had kind of an attitude.
Wasn’t happy about the QC issues (good thing I never bought it). Wasn’t cool hearing about KFC’s “maybe” purposeful “sabotage” of the figure.
Funny to see this thread bumped though. Good on you guys who actually own/enjoy this figure though. The official figure, for me, killed both 3P attempts absolutely — so much so that I can’t even fathom any future attempt being “better” than the official.
Treadshot 2.0
If this thing had been manufactured to the specs of its actual design it would have been a pretty great toy. Even with its flaws it had lots of good points.

I STILL, after all these years and all the persecution, like this figure a lot.
