The Wrap is reporting that comedian Jerrod Carmichael of NBC’s “The Carmichael Show” is in talks with Paramount to act alongside Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming production of Transformers 5. Paramount has yet to confirm or deny this rumor, but The Wrap previously reported that Nickelodeon actress Isabela Moner was in talks for the lead female role. Only time will tell if either of these rumors are true. At this point in time it is unclear what Carmichael’s role will be if he does appear in the film.

I only want Epps and Lennox to come back from the other films…

I wanna be optimistic about the "Cinematic Universe" they have planned, even after the Batman V. Superman debacle.
I just wish the earlier live action TF films were better I guess? Even though I enjoy them, they are flawed.

I'm cool with Jerrod joining, he's great on his show.
But yeah I'd love Glen back, he was funny.
Hazekiah
Well, she's in "Jessica Jones" now so you can stop feeling bad for her.
🙂

Yeah, I can picture him as the leader head human villain cracking jokes and kicking some good guy tails at the same time!
Cykill 1
So, is he the token black guy in this movie?
EagleTron
I'm getting the feeling he is going to be a lead character role.

I actually feel bad for the actress Rachel Taylor because every TV series I've seen her on in recent years ends up getting cancelled. I don't think that's a fault of her own, just the shows premise was bad or terrible time slots.

I wouldn't go with Galvatron needing them to hack into government files thing. Blackout and Frenzy did alright on their own.
But yeah, Glen and Maggie would be a welcome return.

I think he's great when he has little to no control as far as his comedy goes. In AoE, he wasn't as funny as say, Deadpool or his stand up.
I normally have a distaste for comedians who swear to emphasize the joke, but his delivery is what makes it great. Putting so much emotion into the f-bomb while still remaining apathetic and stoic to the entire punchline. Not many can pull that off.
Livingdeaddan
That's the guy from Deadpool right? Yeah for sure, these movies try and fail at comedy, Bernie Mac aside, 95% of the time, and the one time they get a bonafide funny man in, they kill him!

Two black characters and both comic reliefs survived the first movie

I disagree. I think he's one of the funniest guys in the stand-up world right now. In fact, when I first saw AOE and saw him get turned into a skeleton, I said to myself, "They just killed off the best part of the movie.".

This!!

Looking at the direction of the story focusing on Sam leaving home and going off to college and Simmons getting fired in the second film, there really wasn't a place for them that probably wouldn't have felt shoehorned in in a capacity.
Even if they wrote them in as analyst for the government, getting them into the action of things aside from sitting at a desk participating that way would probably not have worked.
That films plot was all over the place anyway, so it would have been a moot point nevertheless.

This. It would be cool to see Glenn and Maggie return and maybe have them face the "Galvatron needs them to hack into some government files" issue together and also catch up on what they've been up to since the Battle of Mission City. I thought they contributed a decent amount to the first movies plot and I didn't like how they were suddenly dumped and forgotten about.

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this, but I was SO glad T.J. Miller's character was killed off so soon in the movie. He was never genuinely funny, AND he nearly got everyone killed and the Yeagers' house blown up by calling the government/Cemetery Wind. Some best friend. If he'd been in the entire movie, it would have been worse than it already was.
bman29
Actually that would be pretty groovy to see him back or even Rachel Taylor's character Maggie.

Humor is something the last film was sorely lacking. Killing TJ Miller off to me was a mistake. He's pretty funny on Silicon Valley.
I've heard good things about Carmichael so his involvement could be a boon.
