Thanks to site friend and sponsor ToyArena on Facebook and Guan Cheng Photo, we have a glance at the latest of TFC Toys’ Hades combiner members. Here we have a look at not just of Cerberus, but Rhadamanthus as well. The newest figure is looking mighty awesome just like his predecessor, and appears to transform into a sort of combat buggy equipped with missile pods. With how quickly these guys have been coming out, is there a possibility we might have the full team assembled before the fall? Only time will tell!

Nope. Not I. I haven’t messed with ToyHax stuff, outside of their faction symbols, for quite a while. And now since Show.Z has been packaging even better faction symbols with their items, I haven’t been willing to spend anything on ToyHax stuff in over 1.5 years or so now.
Even then I wouldn’t ever use 100% of the sheet. I would apply what would make them “more IDW” and the rest would go into a baggie, in the drawer.

Soo I was wondering has anyone toyhaxed a set of these guys

The important thing to remember is this: removing pins is nowhere near as difficult as people build it up to be in their heads.
Once you've done it you won't even bat an eyelid at knocking a pin out to repair or modify something.

Awesome guys I’m feeling confident in the work I’ll need todo
you all have been a wealth of knowledge for this and giving me a boost in confidence

I think the only time I've ever had to karate kid a swing was for Legacy Armada Optimus Prime's butt flap. And that was still repeated fast taps just with all the force I could get. I also placed him on a towel. It dampened the hits, but I was hitting way to hard to keep going without it
The Happenin Rhinoceros
I tend to use a big, thick, semi-squishy mouse pad as a base. I can hold the piece firmly down and the pad confirms to it, but with pressure from my hand still remains stable and avoids cosmetic damage to the parts that are facing down.
Also, note that when removing a pin it is far better to tap quickly and repeatedly with a hammer than it is to try to "Karate Kid" it and drive it out with one big hit. Repeated, fast taps with moderate force have done the job for me 90% of the time.

I'd say it's a per figure basis. Some figures have pins with a knurled end that is meant to keep that end from moving. When knocking those out you just have to be sure you hit it from the unknurled side. Some also have looser tolerances than others, so the pins can be tighter or looser.
Setup is the most important thing though. You need good leverage on the figure and a place for the pin to go. You want to have a block with a hole that you can set the pin above. The block will support the figure and the pin can freely be displaced into the hole. You could also set up on two blocks and leave a gap for the pin. What will vary between figures is the pin location and the land around it. You want the area of the figure you support to both be near the pin and preferably non-cosmetic. You are going to be hitting the pin punch with a hammer and that force will translate both to the pin and the supported area of the figure. If your support is not balanced about the pin location, you'll lose all the energy to the figure bouncing up and down each hit. If the area is cosmetic, you could damage it as it vibrates on the support surface with each hit.
Most pins can be pulled out with pliers once you hit them loose rather than needing hit the full way out. From the instruction video TFC made, these pins actually look easy enough to push out by hand with the included pin punch then pull out with pliers. They also don't appear to be knurled.

Heck yeah thank you for the links
Is it hard to push out pins from figures or is it on a per figure bases

Here's the set I use:

I've tried cheaper Pittsburgh ones from Harbor Freight but they ended up failing.
I have been happy with my automatic center punch from them, though:

For the record, I have not installed this specific kit but I have done lots of pin removal now.
Tungg
It’s an og release, can anyone link a pin pusher tool then?
Anyone install the renewal kit
The Happenin Rhinoceros
Yeah, if you bought new and not used you're likely getting the upgrades preinstalled
DubV
There’s some 3rd party kits out there but TFC has also released a kit with just the upgraded pieces that you can install yourself, it’s maybe $20-$25 (if memory serves me correctly)
Honesty
If it’s the renewal/reissue, then the fixes are already included.
Tungg
So I have this guy on the way is there a way to fix the wobble with out a kit?
The Happenin Rhinoceros
I don't need them. PM me and I'll get them out to you.

Oh man, that’s awesome!! I can print off my own copies. I assume you wish to keep your original copies, but if not I’d be happy to buy them off of you!
