The latest Target exclusive Platinum Edition Transformers set is now available online through Target’s website. The Planet of Junk Clash is a part of this year’s movie anniversary themed releases for the Platinum Edition series, and commemorates the scene in Transformers the Movie where Hot Rod arrived on Junk and got in a brawl with the Junkions and their leader, Wreck-Gar. The set is running for $75, which may seem steep, though such costs are par for the course with the collector’s edition premium releases that are the Platinum Edition.
Will you add these ones to your collection? Sound off in the discussion thread below.

Picked this up along with a second Junkheap and both Lucky Rogers upgrade kits.
Already have United Wreck-Gar and Junkheap… all said and done, will have 5 Junkions with unique heads on all after.

That's really awesome. I haven't done anything with third party yet but that's a tempting way to start.

That one was released last year. It's still available online:

Eh… I'm kind of more interested in the Squadron Seeker 3-pack that's also advertised.

Does this Wreck-Gar have the same issues with the handlebars as the original?

I got mine yesterday. Mainly wanted the Scrapheap head with the eHobby price and wanted to troop build. With a spare DX9 Splinter head and some reprolabels, I'm content with my purchase for troopbuilding. I gave Hot Rod to my 2yr old.

The reason I got it, and i really do like the Scrapheap head. It is a sweet head. And the lightpiping on both the bots is sweet. Got to say the joints are tight as fk.
The piece the head is pinned on for scrapheap is too tight on mine. So i am very gentle not to snap it. As for the hips, on wreckgar it is just too tight. Kinda have to pull on the crotch to get clearance for the tabs. But just enough for that to losen it.
Other then that the wheel on 1 side of Hot rod is too lose but thats a easy polish fix. no worries on him at all.
It is just the tightness. And the paint on all 3 is perfect. What you might expect from a figure set of this price. For me the issue is not price, but quality. If the quality is good, like this. I do not mind paying a few bucks extra per figure.
Scrapheap really has a different look in hand. True same flame deco but they are meant just like the decepticon set to be a army build type set.

Meh, I'm not going to front, I got this. Wanted the Scrapheap mold for awhile, I can Junkion troop build with spare Reprolabels and the DX9 Splinter head, and I don't have the time and patience to hope for or keep an eye out for a sale.
To each their own I guess.

Here is my Review of it here.
You can take a look at the box to see if it is worth it.
Pay more for the box and the little junk-heap head mold that was hard to acquire.
It is true that the wreckgar mold is complex, has a lot more parts and articulation than current deluxes though.

But its got a new box! The box, has new box art! You can get your box shipped right to your door- and it comes in a box!
They don't want TF to die- they want to maximize revenue by banking on nostalgia by reusing existing molds. The real question one should be asking is- Can you pay to upgrade to a 'collector quality box'?

Nearly every Generations toy has had the "3/4 angle with one leg tilted forward and both arms out holding weapons" pose the last few years…

Junkions left arm is un-tabbed but what can we expect from hasbros photography team lol

That's cos it's Scrapheap, not Junkheap!
Three Junkion heads:
One used on all versions of Wreck Gar. Wreck-Gar (2011) – Autobot – http://www.tfu.info
One used on Generations Junkheap. Junkheap (2011) – Autobot – http://www.tfu.info
One used on e-hobby Scrapheap and not previously sold at retail in the west. Scrapheap (2011) – Autobot Junkion Detector – http://www.tfu.info
All three were coloured as Insecticons in a Botcon set at the same time, links from the above links

The head on Junkheap is different than the previous single pack release?

I'd be more likely to spend $75 if this was a reissue set of wreck gar and hot rod's g1 toys. Put Kup in there too and call it the Universal Greeting box set.
GotBot
I reviewed this set. Great molds, great figures and even really nice, premium paint. Is it worth the price? That's your call. I can say that in hand though, they look terrific.
Burnout
For 75 flippin' bucks hot rod, wreck gar and the junkion should be new molds, maybe more movie accurate, with movie accurate schemes. Lord knows hot rod is BADLY in need of a new classics deluxe mold…im sorry that craptacular blackjack redo was pure toilet film.

I just wanted Wreck-Gar. I missed his original release and managed to get Junk Heap but not him. Then I got a used G1 Wreck-Gar for $5 at Botcon but without his front wheel I can't turn him into bike mode.
Lord Black Cat
Were the G1 releases in store or just online? I don't think I saw them in store but I'm not really looking for more G1 so I may have glossed over it. (I completely forgot about these and just assumed their exclusives got floor space lately.)
I should add that if it's online, it probably won't go clearance. If it's in the store it will go clearance; you might just need to hunt at different Targets.

Yeah, used. I admittedly prefer getting toys new
