Here’s an oddity to report. The Kre-O Combiners were released a few years ago now, but they have recently got a new release in the form of a giftset that’s offering three of the Combiner sets in a single box. This set, spotted in a Dollar General in Pennsylvania by TFW2005 member engledogg, collects the Kre-O combiners Superion, Menasor, and Bruticus in a single box set. It’s not known if there’s any differences to these three over their original releases, and at $12 they’re a great way to catch up on these releases, particularly Menasor who was harder to find on his previous outing.
Also spotted at the same time was the Kre-O Beast Hunter Optimus Prime. Again, this seems to be the same set as the one previously available alongside Transformers Prime Beast Hunters, however, it’s a new packaging variation with the current red and white Transformers logo on the box, so it’s a new run.
Will more “new” Kre-O sets appear in the wild? Watch this space for more updates.

The Dollar General near me in NJ is a dump, but I found the Combiner Set. It's like picking through a flea market in there.

Not only did I discover that there is in fact a Dollar General in the vicinity, but I was able to find two of the Combiner sets!

I just assumed these sets had the robot parts taken out. Did the Wheeljack/Knock Out DG sets have the robot parts afterall too?

Picked up the Beast Hunter OP set yesterday for $12. Didn't have the combiners at the DG store I stopped at, but they did have 2 of the D&D Fortress Defense set that's the cross-sell on the Combiners box. Thought it was funny that OP was the cross-sell on it's box. Also thought it was odd that the new OP packaging has it age-rated 6-12 instead of 7-14.
BEAST HUNTER OP DOES INCLUDE ALL THE ROBOT PARTS! Like the earlier cars, robot-building instructions aren't included. The Product Listing on Hasbro's site still has the original instructions for download. I recently became familiar with this process when I bought the CJ Brick Box and had to find the Decepticon Ambush instructions.
It blows my mind that Hasbro wouldn't want to promote that you can build more than just the truck. Maybe they're trying to de-value them from a marketing standpoint to justify they're half the price. Or maybe they were cutting corners by reducing the instructions.
I'm just happy I have the chance to pick up some old sets. I just recently started picking up some LEGO to prototype transforming robot designs. Missed out on most Kre-o. Nice to have the option of some cheap decent-quality bricks.

hopefully these somehow get to Australia…..

That's good that you and your kids enjoyed them, that's what matters.
I still have had no luck at finding one. Ironically I saw a lone Defensor combiner at Fred's recently despite the fact I haven't seen anything Transformers Kre-o there in ages, if at all (not counting a Battleship set that doesn't interest me). I'd have picked him up, but they were wanting nearly $13 for the guy/guys! I think I'll just keep looking for this re-release. :/

Found the Combiner set at my local DG. A few thoughts.
1. The bots have a nice design, but there are too many leftover parts. In every mode. At least you can be creative and find places for the heads and other parts to put on the Combiner. That just leaves the helmet leftover.
2. Kre-o tolerances are terrible. Some of the pieces are molded bad. Poor fit on a lot of pieces.
Worth $12? For me it was, because my kids enjoyed putting them together.

Do any of the others have parts to make the robot mode?

Here's the weird thing about (At least) the Prowl set: There's parts to ake a robot, but no instructions or mention at all.

Found one in Chesapeake, VA. Only one in store though. They mostly got in the Jazz, Ratchet, or Prowl + car repacks. And a few of the kreo castle sets.

I just got one in Greensboro, NC. I can confirm that they are identical to the single release. Now to find a Blast Off…

I've yet to see them either sadly. I'll just have to keep looking around. :/

Went to all Dollar Generals in my area but couldn't find any combiner packs.

Or BG….whatever.

Damn! I wish we had Dollar General around here, I'd love to grab that combiner set. I'll have to start looking at other similar places to see if there's any.

The missing 5th members are the same ones left out of the Combiner Wars retail releases.

I am too. Menasor eluded me when I was picking these sets up, and as cool as these combiners are, I have no problem double-dipping on bruticus and superion.
This is very cool.

I have all those combiners and that optimus set but i would pick them up just for customs but to bad there is no dollar generals in the bayarea

I'm excited about this!!, but the pessimist in me says this must be factory overstock. :/

Agreed! Then again, I want a Defensor set, Grove, Heatrock, and Skyfeather, since the last 2 appeared in the comic.
