Thanks to board sponsor The Chosen Prime’s facebook page we have our first look at the final production of X-Transbots Arkose. Arkose is the part of their Mini Masters line and is their take on a Masterpiece style versions of Generation 1 Beachcomber. Included with this release, which was listed as a pre order bonus, is an extra golden right hand as well as 3 miniature bird figures that pay homage to “The Golden Lagoon” Transformers Generation 1 episode.
The Chosen Prime has received a small amount of these already so with any luck they will be arriving at other retailers here shortly!
It’s also worth mentioning that X-Transbots may have teased their take on a Masterpiece style Cliffjumper and Hubcap on the bottom of Arkose’s box! Use this link to join in on that speculation.

Autobrat Leader
I sold my copy of Beachcomber, but I think he's probably a head taller than ER Cliff and smaller than Siege Sideswipe.

Odd request, but can someone snap a shot of this guy next to ER Cliffjumper or Bumblebee and any Deluxe Autobot car? I know they're different lines but I'm hoping he doesn't look too out of place since the old Legend size one is too small now.

So I unscrewed it and…I cant really tell whats going on in there
The screw is diffidently not reaching down bottom (or the other part at all), and definitely that… cylinder that looks like broken to me, is two pieces that look superglued together to my eyes…either that or I am a complete idiot and I cant tell solid pieces, and to add insult to injury fate made the cut so clean, as to troll me.
Anyone has any ideas? Friction holds it damn fine still.
In other news:
I may be giving them (XTB) a lot of shit lately for practices I dont approve, but when they do good they do good.
I popped a question to them, if replacement parts are still available for this figure, and the answer requesting pics came within a matter of hours.
I am confident that all the good talk I heard about their after-sales services is good will apply here as well.

Ok so…. two issues:
First the light one: I dropped his gun on the floor and apparently the…how to call this? The box is a two parter that the two pieces slot into one another….I thought it broke but no thankfully….IDK if its supposed to be glued or held due to friction, but unless there is a point to split it, I might as well glue it into place.
And now the bad news:
I broke (not sure, but I am 70-30 about it) the rear leg assembly that unfolds to the buggy sides, at the time I transformed him back into robot mode….I was watching a video and to be honest I couldnt understand how the heck you are supposed to manipulate these things….I removed the ball joint from the right, and popped it right it no problem. But on the left…..Well the good news is that even as a partsformer he still stands and shows no sign of breakage. There is also that 30% chance that that piece is supposedly been held up by a screw and that that screw was not long enough…OR so I want to hope, I have zero technical knowledge. At any rate since he is standing and assuming that he will still hold into place transformed if I ever wish to do so, still not a big issue.
I love the colouring and his altmode.

Ill unscrew the opposite section tomorrow and check if the screw goes all the way in.

Got him today, infact I unboxed him about ten mins ago.
First thing I was afraid I might have been scammed that box was tiny!
Anyway everything seems fine (havent transformed him yet), except the knees, they are quite loose, I suppose I can fix them, and the left rear tab on the leg, doesnt appear to want to stay tabbed for some reason.
The backpack is not such a big deal guys….From pictures and the discussion I was expecting to see an Mp44 style of hunchback….but its not bad….
I like the metallic green very much and for 60$ he is gonna fill the spot for the "I dont give a shit about this char" just fine.

Sometimes you don't need to pop them off – some times they pop off on their own, which solves the problem. They are a nice touch – I could see that having them rigidly inserted could cause breakage with the thin pieces that they are.
Tazman66gt
yea, I pop it off when I transform mine too, just easier and less stuff to worry about when you're moving the engine.
pilot00
You can pop it off? Thats good.
Masimoed
The transformation for me wasn't too difficult, it just never felt like it all came together solidly though. Some parts never felt like they tabbed in great. Maybe I was doing something wrong but I did watch a couple transformation videos.
The good thing is that it never felt like anything was going to break. When transforming the rollbars I just took this piece off and put back on as it did get in the way. Hope this helps a little.

So I came finally to the point where I needed to fill the ranks of my Shattered glass Autobozos….erhm….I mean Autobots, naturally….So I picked up (from ebay) the green variant.
Can you give any tidbits of what to expect? From what I gathered, the mold has a very difficult and finicky transformation, and I cant quite understand what the problem is with the harness (again as far as I get it, you need to bend the plastic during transformation)?
Any tips and hints and advice is appreciated

Looks more metallic like paint… just ordered one from baba a little bit ago for a good discount. His Ebay store has a sale on them now.
ChromeMagnus
If there are any paint differences, they are slightly, if not barely, noticeable.

Fully metallic paint applications this round on reissue?
ChromeMagnus
Baba uses that phrase "metal ver" on their Ebay store often. They tend to do that with XTB products. I don't think metal ver really means anything. If anything it is just the reissue that came out last year that has the updated painted artwork on the box (Arkose raising his arm to the birds).

The one piece hip skirt on FT is really difficult to stomach. I took it on the chin with Warpath because he's the only viable option imo.

Metal ver??
pilot00
Why are you doing this to me?
kibble
Yeah, I guess Beachcomer isn't that important to me. I was going to skip him and the rest of the s2 minibots altogether until I got the KO of Powerglide, ordered Sheridan on a whim (even though I already had the Bad Chug offering)…then realized I only needed 3 more to complete them. So this guy, Cosmos, and Seaspray are on the way. I could easily sell the FT version and get my money back, I'm sure…but that's a pain in the ass. If XTB's is solid, I'd probably be content. My biggest question is what the metal ver. is?
ChromeMagnus
I wouldn't sleep on the FT version. You know how they dry up and we know how it goes after that.
I have the XTB version but there's no way I'm missing out on the FT version.
