Hat tip to 2005 board member captain N for sharing with us that Shout! Factory has updated their website to include a release date for a Season 1 DVD set for Robots in Disguise cartoon! The DVD set is up for preorder on their site with a release date May 10th, 2016. The set will run you $24.93 on Shouts website with a list price of $29.93. You can read the synopsis below.
When a Cybertronian prison ship filled with Decepticons crash lands on Earth and unleashes its prisoners, Bumblebee returns to the planet he once called home and with his team — Strongarm, Sideswipe, Fixit and Grimlock — tracks the escapees down in order to bring them to justice. Along with their new human allies, Denny and Russell, this unlikely team of robots in disguise must protect the Earth while preparing for an ominous threat suited only for a Prime.

All I know if s one way or another, they need to get those damn rights. We're tired of waiting here. And I do not wanna go back to YouTube for my favorite transformers series.
Anyway, I'm kinda bummed because I already got the first DVD release thinking they might not actually do season releases for this. At least for a while anyway. I'm just glad I didn't preorder the second set. I came so close to it today. Now I can wait this out.
Edit: Dunno why this wouldn't have been mentioned, but if Australia already had a full season set out in September and season 2 is airing in march, why the heck aren't we getting the set until May? Just seems totally ridiculous to wait that out just so they can profit a little bit on individual releases, if they profit at all. If it's about parents buying for kids, who's not gonna go for a whole season for $25 bucks?
Tekkaman Blade
That's a Saban release, and I think in 2001 they were owned by Disney. So some of the rights may reside with them, and so there is probably some contract issue or other.
moreprimeland
Yep, me too.
That's just the video dl's, not a DVD set, but I imagine they will have it sooner or later too.
Agreed, maybe they still think kids only have DVD players, mom and dad won't let them use the BD player, too expensive.

I will buy this, but I would have been much happier with a blu-ray version. I do not understand why they don't see the value in releasing the best possible version of their product.
Wild Eevee
So will I.
Boy Blunder
This is great news… but I'm definitely in the 'will there be a BluRay release' camp. As it stands, the only series we have on BluRay is Prime, and while I know that the other series that we own (Animated and Armada) wouldn't necessarily be improved on BluRay, I'd still prefer to have a current series in that format.
Also, I'll echo the call for Rescue Bots season sets. Or heck, if they want to wait until after S4 airs, just give us a 'Complete Series' set.
Autovolt 127
That's great news.
Scar04c
Yep – that was the last one on Animated before The Hub became a thing, pretty sure.
Uncle Madness
Wasn't Animated….
Scar04c
Pretty much how I feel about it, haha. Like, I'll still buy the DVD, but if there were a BluRay, I'd buy that instead! I hate when I can get a downloaded version with a better resolution than is regularly available.
DOTM Bumblebee
Well, FINALLY!
WO3004
I really want this, but I live in the UK so i'm buggered on that front.
BigRed
It airs at a terribly early timeslot, but still gets better ratings than the last two because Cartoon Network's weak timeslots are still much higher than The Hub's best timeslots could achieve.
Repainted
Well, it's a start but could be better. Hopefully there's also a Blu Ray version that contains all the relevant shorts, maybe some commercials or something. Also needing RB in the same season set fashion too rather than the mixed up dvd singles of episodes.

It is available at Amazon too for $24.99 at Amazon.com: Transformers: Robots In Disguise Season 1: Amazon Digital Services LLC
Spiff-O-Matic
Why do they never release these shows on BluRay? I know DVD looks *OK*, but I want my 1080p dammit!
shibamura_prime
I'd buy that for a dollar! (Plus $23.93)
