The Nuremberg Toy Fair has been underway for a few days now, and in fact is about to come to an end. We’re just now starting to get some details in about what was shown, Transformers-wise. TFW2005 boards member Marvelous, who was at last year’s show, was once again able to attend this year and has been gracious enough provide us with some information. Unfortunately, it sounds as if security was a lot tighter and much less was shown compared to last year – but what was on display includes…
Titans Return:
• Titan class Fortress Maximus – said to be very massive and very G1-accurate, city mode is very much like in the previous leaked photo, did not appear to feature the IDW-inspired tread backpack
• Most of the already-known TR toys in package, including the Deluxes and Chromedome’s head; packaging is said to be very similar to Combiner Wars, and Skullsmasher (Skullcruncher) seemed larger than the CW Deluxes
• Leader class Powermaster Optimus Prime – said to look very nice in person
• Titan Masters Apeface – new reveal, was only a head with a small ape-like vehicle
• Legends class Wheelie – new reveal, is said to be very G1-ish with a windshield that opens to have a seat for Titan Masters, was only shown in robot mode
• Leader class Blaster
• Leader class Soundwave
Platinum Edition:
• Rodimus Prime vs. Galvatron set – uses the Titanium Rodimus Prime and Universe Galvatron molds
• Another set with two Sweeps (one apparently using the Botcon Devcon head) and the Universe Cyclonus mold
Miscellaneous:
• Victorion was shown
• Nothing else for Combiner Wars, unfortunately – no Computron or Predaking
• No Masterpiece news either
It’s not a whole lot, and we don’t have any photos at the moment, but it should still whet your appetites for New York Toy Fair, which is approaching rapidly – and is where we should be seeing many of these products in-person. Be sure to stay tuned to TFW as we bring you all the latest Toy Fair news!
(Marvelous has also let us know that she will be kind enough to hang around in the discussion thread and answer questions, so head on over by clicking the link below!)

There was the fixed run of him which is the ONLY version I ever saw while regularly checking Target. Did Brainstorm just have a small overall production run? Also HTS I thought generally had him just like any other poorly distributed figures in the line.
Matrix_holder
He never made it to canadian retail at all, only collectors shops got him in or at toy shows.
The Kup
Well the last one we got didn't really make to retail and the figure had some problems.
Matrix_holder
It's Hasbro so he will have a faceplate.
They made this new brainstorm because the voyager one is now out of scale with the new headmasters in the line. Hard head, blurr, chromedome, skull cruncher will be deluxes and you can't have brainstorm tower over them
, plus the voyagers headmaster would not be compatible with the other headmasters in the line and this line is all about titan master compatibility. The titan masters are quote a bit smaller than voyagers brainstorms headmaster.
OriginalFire
Why would they make another Brainstorm when they just made one like Last yr or two yrs ago at the latest
Raiyuki
So's that mean Brainstorm has a mouth or is it still faceplated like the toy? Takara Headmasters accurate Brainstorm actually sounds great to me (even though I love the earlier Generations figure.)
Matrix_holder
The titan returns alt mode is actually closer to the japanese headmaster series model than the voyager brainstorm which is based on the MTMTE brainstorm. the titan returns line is more of a season 4 redux or re imaging of G1 figures for their new story line, The figures are very faithful to the G1 designs.
Slingshot
I definantly prefer the Thrilling 30 figure's vehicle mode over this figure.

Leaked image of deluxe Brainstorm alt mode, heavy retool of Blurr.

WishfulThinking
That's my thought.

*this*
I could see them upscaling a CW mold if need be to fit into the new Titans play pattern.
knoted
You mean to say they might simply "copy" CW Dead End's design and scale it up to TR size context ?
WishfulThinking
I'd be more willing to believe that Hasbro is using a SIMILAR mold style than that exact mold. Similar to G2 Smokescreen and Energon Starscream both share a similar style and Transformation but are totally different toys.
knoted
Honestly…. I really do not believe that Dead End repaint rumor.
Afteral, in both the Sunbow cartoon and various other media, the season 4 headmasters were roughly the same size : Brainstorm, Chromedome and Hardhead on Autobot side – Skullcruncher, Mindwipe and Weirdwolf on Decepticon side.
We already know TR Hardhead and Skullcruncher to be of similar size. The Mindwipe leaked pic seems to indicate he's in line with them too.
So…..why would Hasbro choose to do Chromedome in a pesky little CW mold ?
grindcore138
True, but if his TR toy looks that much like Dead End that people are saying he might be a heavy retool/remould/whatever in alt-mode then he doesn't even have that 80's-futuristic thing going on.
Now, if he's actually a reshell/retool of TR Blurr, that I'd be fine with. I just don't want him to be a generic sports car.
knoted
G1 Chromedome never was 'just a boring brown car'.
From the start, his car mode has always been a sort futuristic tech car
with protruding tech bits. Sort of like a Back to the Future 2 Delorean on steriods, but in 70's color scheme.
Visually, he's almost a Technobot.
grindcore138
What I want to know about Chromedome is–seeing as it sounds like he is just a boring brown car–does he have wheels on his shoulders? I want him to look at least a little MTMTE-ish.

Titan masters, triple changers, city bots, legends figures, double box sets. And here I am just waiting for Victorion to come out….
(I am still super excited for all of these though)
WishfulThinking
I like Rodimus. He stands on my display as CHUG Rodimus Prime since Hasbro refuses to give us a proper one. His dimensions are a little wonky due to the fact that the trailer ends up as the legs. But the chest piece isn't as bad as everyone tries to make it out to be…at least not on mine. Just keep a thumb on it while you're posing his arms and he's good to go. And the head sculpt is light years ahead of Classic Rodimus/Hot Rod…probably the best head sculpt this side of a Masterpiece figure.
