The speculation may be over very soon for the fate of a Combiner Wars Computron. TFW2005 member IceConvoy has come to us with a report that he has found a Computron item listed in the Toys ‘R Us computer systems with an item number of 367596, a sale date of May 1, 2016, and price point of $99.99 suggesting this will be a box set release.
Although this is excellent evidence, anything can still happen. Hopefully we will see an official reveal come Toy Fair. For now, let’s start speculating and discuss in the thread linked below.

I'll most likely go with Hasbro then.
Scrounge will be worth it.
That's gonna cost $150 in Canada…..yikes.

Hasbro could always surprise us but thus far they haven't. That artwork is most certainly Superion's head as it has the faceplate.

Are we 100% certain CW Computron *isn't* sporting a modified head? Much like Lightspeed's base mold it's tough to glean much off that art.
UW probably will continue not having legends figures. So from that perspective I'd expect CW/UW to differ.
Raiyuki
None of them do which is what he's saying. Although the Adventure line does have Powerglide and Grove and Blackjack were respectively redecoed into Override and Runabout giving one the option of a chest minion (probably not the intention but it works.) I'm willing to bet they'll still find some way to release mini Shockwave as well.

^ I don't think any of TakaTom's UW giftsets actually includes any Commander Class figures, which is often the 6th member of the team.

Seeing as how Takara went out of their way to remold Devastator, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave Computron a new head, at the very least. They do have that cartoon accuracy thing going on.
Unfortunately, that would almost certainly mean that their Computron will be missing Scrounge.
MatrixOfWumbo
I didn't expect any changes between Takara and Hasbro, but that was before I knew Quickslinger was painted differently. I suppose they could do the all red and magenta cartoon deco. But I'm with T-Hybrid in this one, no way they make a new mold.

I think that combiner wars is going to not go out with a bang but a whimper at botcon were they will. Have the combiner wars banner with all the character art were Computron and liokiaser will be added . and then they will be announced
T-Hybrid
Hasbro might add the 6th member legends figure while Takara leaves out.

Personally my main concern is uniformity with my sealed UW boxsets, but I'm also curious as to what changes there could possibly be between the sets if TakTom does indeed make one.
T-Hybrid
I wonder if shifting to boxed sets would mean Hasbro falls closer in line with Takara's. It wouldn't be a main retail presence and would likely have a bit of a premium attached.
At best, Takara may only do slightly different paint. But moldwise they may be identical going forward.
Robogeek28
Hopefully if TakTom is planning a boxset we'll find out about it before this set is released. I have the other TakTom sets on their way to me, and would much rather keep my sets limited to one company if possible.
If not, then I'm all in for this instead.

It's also possible that they just didn't bother, as it wouldn't fit into their big TR reveals. They were selling TR to the industry, any possible Computron is as good as sold.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was just quietly announced, or even just solicited without any real announcement.

Entertainment Earth's Platinum RiD Bumblebee and Voyager Grimlock say "Hello!"

I'm expecting it to be a TRU Exclusive as such. Companies never display figures exclusive to one store at ToyFair.
MatrixOfWumbo
TRU isn't a deal breaker, but Amazon would be cheaper for me.
Hoffman
All of the boxed sets so far have been available to specialty stores as well.
Transmorph633
Even if Computron turns out to be a TRU exclusive I am fine as long as they confirm its actually being released. I was bit annoyed as well that Toy Fair mentioned nothing on it.
Raiyuki
Most likely he's no different than Superion who's mostly online here and is on the shelves in Canadia.
roguesaint
This is what I'm curious about as well. Kinda hoping he's just an online exclusive to e-tailers, like quickslinger & brakeneck were last year. We found out that news last march, so maybe we'll know more in a month or so.
