Third party group Fans Toys, well known for their Masterpiece inspired figures, has started 2016 off with the king of reveals! Revealed earlier today were prototype images of their Grinder figure, a Masterpiece inspired homage to Grimlock.
Grinder is pictured here as a taller and overall bigger representation of Grimlock, standing a full head above the official version of the character. It looks like he’ll come with his traditional sword along with some other nods to the character.
No pricing or release date information is available yet, but we have a full set or dinosaur and robot mode images to start the discussion. Make the jump to share your feedback!
Staff Edit – Preorders have opened up! Grinder will be releasing this December!

I used vinyl tape to cover up the front, and this is what it looks like:

I readjusted the tape, and it is a little yellower, but that entire neck piece was always a little yellower than the rest of the chest so it all matches well. We shall also see how durable it is.

No idea, I'm afraid. That was how it turned up!

Is that a pic from after the Molotow attempt was stripped off? I've seen old, separated, expired Molotow used—and it still looks much, much better than that. That almost looks like they let it sit and separate, and just used the "molotow-tinted thinner" that pooled on the top…

IMO, Grinder holds up well. Hoodlum has never looked right.

Because Gigapower.
Because Reximus.
Because Robosen.

Fans Toys Tesla (Perceptor) has a 2.0 version. It's the one that's currently available from many retailers. It's actually very hard to find the original version now. I ordered the original version when it was on sale and actually prefer the head on that one to the one on the 2.0 version.
It seems pretty unlikely that Fans Toys will do a 2.0 version of Grinder. I would like them to, because I would like them to rerelease the blue Grinder. The current prices of the Grinders on the secondary market are ridiculous. A standard release will usually cost over $500, while an X or blue version usually goes for over $1000. You can actually buy both a Gigapower Superator and Gigapower Graviter for nearly half that price at the moment.

God that’s looks horrible

Cuz gold and chrome are two different things

Molotow does NOT make a gold chrome pen.

Ahh, yes, BarbatosRex
Seen some of his videos before. And the video you linked already.
Much appreciated

I was looking to see if I could get Molotow pens cheaper online and saw them on AliExpress, haven't ordered any from there though. Then I saw them on Temu so I finally ordered some, they should be here in a few days. I just searched chrome pen or mirror pen, you get results for chrome, gold, and rose gold.
Top coat is no problem. I found this stuff by searching different chrome paints and products and came across this guy on YouTube. He seems to try every product on the market using different processes just as a "what would happen if….". I'd check out his other videos too, some unconventional tips have some amazing results.

This is the first time I've ever heard of this.
Do you know if this can take a top coat and not have to worry about long term chemical reactions?
Have a Type-100 that's needs gold chrome and this looks way easier than trying to airbrush chrome and then light yellow coats.
Hicks_Royel
I am probably wrong but I believe you have to get creative and apply a yellow clear coat over the chrome.
molotow liquid chrome pens and spray paints

Do you know where I can get the gold Molotow? I can only find the silver ones. What is the exact name?

Don't forget Perceptor.

I could add the other G1, Newage EX and DX9 to it, but that's all.
I wouldn't want the Robosen things. Transformers that transform themselves are about as pointless to me as G1 Actionmasters!
Skullox
That's a hard wish though, just like wanting Hoodlum 2.0. How many v2 have they done anyway? Just Seaspray as far as I know and why? Odd choice to me. I'd love more versions because, well, dinobots!

Looks like this photo needs robosen grimlock

Honestly, I would wait for a 2.0 from Fanstoys. It's an older design, so it makes sense that they would try to make a new version in the coming future.

Whoa! Yeah, that's way too big of an area to tackle with the pens. If I were doing that, I would definitely go with one of the powders. You spray on a black basecoat and let it sit just long enough that it's tacky but can be lightly handled, sprinkle/dust the powder on and let sit a little longer, then use a cloth to buff/wipe the excess powder and like magic the dusty black powder turns into a glossy mirror chrome finish. It's truly amazing and super durable.
