Thanks to TFW2005 member Ra88 for sharing with us some artwork from the Twitter account of Takara Tomy designer Yuya Onishi. The artwork shows us some lovely renditions of Voyager Class Galvatron from the 2016 Titans Return toy line, which is a part of the Transformers: Generations toy line. The art shows Galvatron in both his robotic glory and his powerful artillery cannon alternate mode. Check it out!

We should copy and paste this post into every thread where we see the original design art for a great looking figure. "Oh it would have been soooo much better if blah blah blah like the art, but instead we got this chunk of blah blah blah toy. I would have bought it, but blah blah blah."
We could make a great drinking game from this kind of post.

Didn't Hasbro just release Gen Leader Starscream and MP Starscream around the same time?
Scaleface
You know people keep complaining it should have been Leader size. Remember though, that would have competed with a MP Galvatron.
Anti Spark
After taken a second look at the head design the chin fooled me into thinking his face was so deep into his Helmet.
battery1979
They should have put flaps on his arms like the did for Brainstorm.
Murasame
I think the face is just so recessed because the helmet is actually a kind of mask that comes spring activated out of the chest and goes over the face. Saw it in a video. Maybe they did not press it tight onto the face.
Ironhide1234
I'm already in love with the figure but if it had those proportions It'd be a lot better.

I'd be all over it if it looked like the drawings.
But it's not, so I won't be.

Oh what could hv been…sadface
rasolyo
I wouldn't have minded the Headmaster gimmick if the face wasn't too recessed into the helmet, other than that and his hollow forearms he's fine.
I'm ok with HasTak taking their artistic liberties on the CHUG line. It's a good place for experimenting with reintroduced concepts. After all, Masterpiece is where it's at if you're wanting character model accuracy.
Now where's my Masterpiece Galvatron?
Acid Wing
I thought of the same thing. Drawings tend to look cooler than the actual figure, but I agree, I prefer this headsculpt.
I guess we'll see what Takara Tomy does with the mold.
Armada_MK
hmm still looks pretty good to me keep in mind show floor prototypes never realy look as good as the final product
Armada_MK

StrangePlanet
Hell, if Titans Return Galvatron's bot mode looked like that I'd buy it.
Scaleface
You know who they could make from this with a heavy remold? Shockwave!
Mercutio
Oh yeah, good point! Perhaps there is hope, haha.
AnegefalosGR
He's a triple changing headmaster(With freaking Megatron as his head) and a cannon large enough to blow up a whole planet. So full of win! Maybe the original design of the gun barrel was better, but well remains to be seen.
Starscream Gaga
People don't like the Headmaster gimmick? Why the hell not!?
A non-intrusive, fun gimmick that gives Galvatron a Headmaster that looks like Megatron? There is no way that's not awesome. If you're going to be anal about G1 Galvatton not being a Headmaster, just think of it as a homage to Galvatron's creation in the '86 movie.
DecepticonSpike
About time we got a voyager class Galvatron.
Autovolt 127
I still wish he wasn't a Headmaster but oh well It's still fine with it.
