PlayWithThisToo, an independent toy company set on making 6 inch fully poseable action figures with homages to lines past has launched their 2nd Kickstarter campaign with a refined focus and new offerings. This time around, the Lost Protectors focus is on the most requested figures from last time, Boneyard and Jetstrike. There are physical prototypes and paint masters ready to along with mock ups for a total of 10 different figures, which you can see over on the KS page. Check out details below and then head on over to their Kickstarter to pledge if you dig em!
PlayWithThisToo is a company formed by toy industry professionals with years of experience. Our collective experience range from working with companies like Hasbro, Mattel, Diamond, Marvel and IDW Comics. Many on our team have worked on brands like Transformers, G.I.Joe, Star Wars, Batman, Jurassic Park, Minimates, Aliens and Thundercats just to name a few!
Boneyard and Jetstrike are the first two figures from our Lost Protectors 6.5” toy line of action figures. These figures have been sculpted with great detail, come fully painted and assembled. We also have 4 variant color choices of each figure as well as unpainted customizer editions, for a total of 10 figures to pick from!
Aimed primarily at collectors, these figures have a robust and layered play value. The figures’ joints are based on a ball joint system allowing for multiple parts swapping amongst themselves or with any other figures. Every figure comes with multiple swappable heads and hands. Each figure also features multiple 5mm pegs to plug armor or weapons into. The weapons are also interchangeable and can be combined via 5mm pegs to form countless new weapons of your own design. *These weapons (and in some cases the heads as well) will also be compatible with other toy lines.

The Kickstarter has official failed.

It's past 11:00 am, they're dead

i think they could recoup their losses if they bang out a bunch of those bobs for sale, no kickstarter, along with all the bmogs and maybe the tech drones….people like pretenders just….not like this i suppose.

Kickstarter turned out to be PWTTs own worst enemy. They should have dropped their own money on the table instead of expecting fans to fund their entire company. Just like the stock market, no risk, no reward. They chose to "play it safe" with kickstarter and it failed both times.
It also didnt help that they were trying to push action figures to a fandom that clearly wants transformable robots. They might have sold better if they had dropped the obvious pretender homages and designed truly original characters geared more toward the marvel superhero fanbase.
If your going to try to push a product geared towards transformer fans, make sure it actually transforms. Thats the bottom line.

I wonder if they'll try for a third time, or go back to the drawing board and develope something that fans actually want.

I was thinking the same thing.
Here's an update from them:

Rik is a big wrestling fan. I dig the hand. It's something silly I'd use occasionally, or for photos. A fun addition.

Maybe they know it is not going to make it and it was just a message for all their "fans"? LOL

Middle fingers eh? Classy people. I think I'm starting to understand what Rik Alvarez meant when he was going on about the suits at Hasbro not letting him make what he wanted to make.

Yeah, I was expecting at least *some* sort of effort related to the Kickstarter. But even the slides during the presentation were met by pretty much silence, save one guy behind me that literally booed.
The human protos did nothing for me in person, I have to say. The proportions just feel wonky.
But the purple demon skeleton dude (is that Desolotaur?) is kinda neat. I do wish this could've gotten off the ground, if only so I could get one or two of the bats down the road. Alas.
Deth
Well beyond a slide or two in the 3rd party panel and having the protos there. I did not see anything promoting the Kickstarter. I thought to see at least a sign or something.

Morbid curiosity brought me to this thread. Embarrassment made me leave.

Occasionally making articulated fingers do that – ok.
Having a molded piece that does nothing but – nah.

Ahahahahaha, that's great!
