Thanks to Boards member Driskull98, we finally have stock images of the Robots In Disguise 2015 version of the Age of Extinction Stomp n’ Chomp Grimlock! This titanic T-Rex was teased a while back in the official Robots In Disguise game app as one of the many different playable versions of Grimlock. Judging by these stock images, there doesn’t seem to be any mold changes so he’ll be a straight-up repaint of the original AOE figure in his RID 2015 color scheme.
No price or release date has been revealed as of yet, but in the meantime, check out the official images we’ve mirrored after the jump!
Nevermore
Listed for preorder at the TRU Canada website as an exclusive.
Transformers – Robots in Disguise – Stomp and Chomp Grimlock Figure – Hasbro – Toys"R"Us
Might explain why it has thus far only been spotted at TRU both in the US and the UK.

I'll say this. RID's deco is better.
Agreed.

Well it looks like Takara beat Hasbro again with their Grimlock retool. Until there is somthing good at NYCC I'm done with Hasbro.

Hasbro continues to waste thier time and money on these repaints nobody asked for, yet for years many people have asked for a new Beast Wars Dinobot, and they don't do shit.
I wonder when the next Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream repaints will be released.

I liked AOE Stomp and Chomp Grimlock …
DISCLAIMER – did not buy it till he was on clearance…
I think 80.00 is too much, but the toy itself is fun, big and NOT a waste of plastic.
It would have been nice if they gave the RID VERSION a new head ….
I will probably get the RID version ( if he goes on Clearance)

This is so friggjn stupid. Devastator was a better idea to.load up.the shelves with. He's built.well and has lots of characters, lots of construction vehicles AND a large character all in the same boat. This doesn't even come with any accessory's or characters and is littrrally too.large for a kid to run around with.easily.
I CANT STAND that all we have is walmart and kmart and ever since the.movie line, AOE, we basically.have NO TRANSFORMERA! Kmart completely got rid of them and walmart only has one steps and I saw ONE SINGLE WAVE of Wave3 deluxe's and leader Megatron.where.I.did grab g1 megs but now there are 5 Armada Megs sitting there for months and I got Takaras Megatron so I.can't feel.right about buying one to.help.the store out. Its sad, its really sad. When I KNOW if they.had combiner.wars and probably RID dlxs they'd sell but can u believe WALMART of all places hasn't got a SINGLE RID deluxe??!! Its ludicrous!

yeah, except this thing is clearly meant to "rip off" anyone who buys it.. it's big, it's very cheaply made, but it's unbelievably expensive.
an $80 toy, even one meant for kids, should have more to it.. there should be a bunch of weapons, or a couple smaller figures to ride this thing.. or anything else really. but no, it's just an inaccurate dinosaur with a handle that turns automatically into an inaccurate robot. i mean, they didn't bother remolding a single thing, just so that their margins would be even larger.. because hey kids won't know the difference anyways.
the reality is, kids deserve more than this thing. and the parents deserve to get more for spending $80.
i don't want this thing clogging up shelf space as much as the next guy, but if it's going to, it should at least be something cool. this, isn't.

The problem with toys like these is that kids can look up reviews about the toy and see if it's worth it.

Oh god it's real, oh Hasbro, you never cease to amaze me
No kid wants this overpriced piece of garbage.

Completely different than a 1-off, or even limited character line. Any line can have a couple stinkers who don't sell that will drag the last few waves (which may be sought after) to a discounter. Shorter lines such as Constructbots and Kreons are a little more concerning when they hit discounters heavily.
I do think that this guy (at least the original) had some things going for it, both size and detail, so this may do alright at Christmas.

Oh good, another thread where adults can complain about kids toys being too simple.
Shizuka
Well the retool of FoC Grimlock looks pretty cool.

What? You mean that Hasbro's sudden opinion that Transformers need to be over-simplified pieces of junk is wrong?
What went so wrong over at Hasbro HQ that they decided that they need 5 versions of the same character with transformation schemes ranger from very simple to non-existent? I remember when characters had 2 versions; the main version and one simple version e.g. deluxe/legends and voyager/deluxe.

I do think it's funny that because a toy is put on clearance that means no one wants it. So by that logic we classics/generations/universe figures should not have come back because I saw each and everyone of those on clearance at some point.
Kids don't need 800 steps to transform a figure or have 300 points of articulation, that's what collectors want and they're expressing their expectations as the expectations of all. The reason kids don't need all those thing is they have imagination, which is something adults are severely lacking. My son plays with deluxe RID figures along side, 3 step changers, one step changers, tiny titans, legends and minicons and for those mini-cons I don't have, well he drew pictures of them and they play right along with them.
Hollywood Hoist
As much as I love the rare positive attitude in this thread, I should point out that RID is not intended for 2-6 years old, more like 5-10. Either way I'm sure kids who get this figure will enjoy it.

I almost bought AOE stomp & chomp for $30 at K-Mart for my son.
Retailers don't mark product below what they pay for items unless the distributor goes out of business or authorizes a discount match that will come off future invoices.
Like the $50 mega bumblebee, this toy is a waste of money. Buyers at the major retailers are always suckered in by big margin items. Selling one of these can make the same profit as selling three smaller figures.
Hasbro also likes the big margin products. Why spend the money making quality toys if you can sell a hollow non transforming figure that cost you $1 to make for $10.

More Dead End and Alpha Bravo repaints! MORE!

I wonder if the RID version has the rider-activated electronic gimmick removed since it doesn't have a figure included, and the RID toyline doesn't have the metal tabs in the feet.
