Activision has issued several Transformers: Devastation screenshots and concept art for us to enjoy.
Game Director Kenji Saito stated:
“These outline sketches are first and foremost designed with an 80’s cartoon or anime feel. After that we revise the concept so the in-game model will have the right proportions and level of detail. The three heads come from the designer experimenting to see just how much detail he might be able to fit. You’ll see detail increases going left to right, as does the” robotic feel (Still not the level of detail of an actual robot, though). We chose the leftmost head for our model, however. The reason for this relates to the “wakame” shading I mentioned before. In order to bring out the effect of this shader as much as possible, we actually limited the detail we used. We then colored the concept similarly to how we use our shader to determing just how much density we wanted in the design. Our original design had a sharp, slim design similar to robot anime in Japan now. The design we ended up on gives Optimus Prime much broader shoulders and a well defined upper body. These changes were mostly inspired by western cartoons and toys. One area we paid special interest to was the fingers. Robots from the 80s are known to have rounder fingers. This took some extra effort polygon splitting for in-game. It’s easiest to tell on characters like Devastator. There are concepts like these for each of the characters that appear in Transformers: Devastation, I hope we get to show you them all.”
The latest Transformers game is expected to release on Oct. 6 and will be available on the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Check out the images, after the jump

Because they're disposable and thus can easily be killed off by the player, plus it's really expensive (both money/production wise and processing power wise) to make them all individuals.
I wouldn't worry though, we've already seen more prominent Cons appear and I'm sure there will be others.
And I agree, would love to see some troopbuilders from the Generations coneheads and Tracks/Wheeljack/Battlechargers molds!

Only 5 Autobots playable, what a pity ,and at the end, no Decepticons to choose, as Megatron,Shockwave,Soundwave?Well, graphics are awesome and has 80's feeling,I'll buy it at the end if it's at least decent as gameplay,I love so much old series.
Besides, seeing new images,it would have been awesome if you can use Constructicons just as Combaticons in that level on FoC game.
I wonder if 6 Constructicons are sub bosses of a stage and once they're defeated, they form Devastator, just as in so many season 2 episodes.

Out of the entire absolutely huge G1 Transformer Universe why are we getting Generic Bots? Unless they plan to make some figures from these new characters?
Cha-CHING.
KnightHawkke
The one sure looks like an evil blue throttlebot clone.
Transformed
Man, if they offered up an artbook with pre-orders, I would have done so by now, lol. I'm buying this game when it release, but I'm in no hurry to order it.
Love the look of it!
Johntimus Prime
The generic Vehicon/Decepticon enemies look a lot like the Battlechargers to me.
Newholl
Wheeljack's insignia's botched.
Anyway… this seems like it'll be an awfully small game.
Autoboticon
For the people asking who the genericbots are, they are just that, generics, though they take inspiration from Runamuck and Runabout.

Oh my god, the more I see of this game the worse I want it. Even if it's bad – and it won't be, it's a Platinum title – the fact that a cel-shaded G1 game exists is driving my inner child mad with joy. I need this game and I need it bad.
AdmiralSnackbar
when are they going to announce the pre order bonus? Could be a special transformer in or out of game. the minute they announce i will pre order!
HanDy
Too bad there are only 5 characters playable, and all of them autobots.
Cal
Hey, Wheeljack is using his Generations wrenches! Those things can kill.
Autovolt 127
Wheeljack punching that Vehicon reminds me of Shaggy punching the Joker.
LeakinLubricant
This looks amazing, it's like Masterpiece the Video Game.
Underlord
I thought it was rumble/frenzy, based on their united design, can't really say for sure. Wonder if we'll get toys of these genericons?

Megastar
Awsome
scrapmetaru
More generics. I think they're at least based on someone though.
Chaosbringer
Who are those 2 decepticon cars that wheeljack, prime and swipe are fighting?
Also is it me or are those constructicons taller then Prime and Grimlock?
scrapmetaru
I think that's just a common heavy enemy. Not a character in any way.
