More good news for fans of the new Transformers: Robots In Disguise 2015 cartoon as we get developments on the Season 1 DVD set and a look at its cover art. Local Australian electronics and home entertainment retailer JB Hi-Fi have put up home delivery pre-orders for the RID 2015 Season 1 DVD set. The collection is set for release on September 1st, 2015 and is priced at AU $49.
The set contains 4 discs over which there is a combined total of 527 minutes of film (approximately 20-22 minutes for each of the 26 episodes). It’s rated PG and produced by Beyond Entertainment who also produced the Rescue Bots DVD sets. You can pre-order your copy at JB Hi-Fi here.
No information has been reported on releases for other countries as of yet, but with this news the rest of us shouldn’t be far behind so be sure to check back to TFW for more news!

Yeah, I have a region free DVD player.

Just be sure to check first that you can play DVDs that are Region 4 and PAL format.
US has Region 1 and NTSC format, and all devices might not be able to play other regions and formats.

I'm surprised they have the whole season…and before the show has aired all the episodes in its country…damn.
SeanTF1967
I am so ordering that today.

Guess again, mate! They're releasing the second season next month in October.
Also, so buying RID on DVD. I needs it for my completion!

This is out now, both the boxset and the first volume on its own. I bought the boxset today at my nearby JB Hifi store for $49.
Some photos….

Fortunately it has all 26 episodes on it, as the total running time originally noted for this release didn't sound like it was all 26.
The box set is just the four regular volumes packed inside that box above (therefore, no extra/special features with this version).
Since one of the volumes is exactly the same as the single volume that's on sale, these other three should be what gets released later, if they get released.

If internet streaming and apple store downloads weren't so common now, I'd be quite excited about having a DVD copy of a cartoon series that hasn't yet finished airing on American or Australian TV.

Yeah my computer doesn't do torrent anymore.

My Laptop crashed and all of my RID eps went with it.

You do bring up a valid point about that. I'm guessing a lot of us guys who're into having the absolute best quality forget that this show is aimed at kids who are just happy to watch it!
SouthtownKid
DVD is still great for little kids who don't really notice lack of HD quality, like my nephews, to enjoy their favorite shows…if for some reason he forgot to tivo them.

My friend, clearly you don't work in the corporate business world. Companies pretty much get you to do overtime for free once you hit a certain point in your career.
That aside, I hear you about people wanting physical copies of their shows and I get that. But only offering a DVD set and not a Blu-ray is beyond me considering the show was presented in HD. They had better pack a ton of extras in there too as an incentive to buy them.
Maybe Shout Factory will do a release in North America on Blu-Ray?

Beyond again? I wonder why Madman didn't bother with the rights. Though seeing as Madman hasn't released Prime on Blu-Ray beyond season 1, perhaps it's not selling for them.

I looked it up. I was wrong. DVD is not 480p.
It's 480i.

I'll get this, the Beast Machines set, Prime, Victory, Cybertron, and maybe BW and that's really all the DVD sets I want.
SeanTF1967
I thought DVD was now 720 and Blu Ray way 1080
Cheebs
I'm all for buying, but ain't nobody buying 480p. This isn't 1998. All of our TVs do 1080p. There is zero reason for this not to be a bluray.

I personally like to have physical copies of all the shows – I've got every show released on DVD to date, except Zone, since it was a bonus with a collected edition of the three Takara shows.
Plus I can play any region DVDs on my setup. I've not got working Blu-Ray yet.

Some people prefer to have something physical, like having cash instead of digital numbers in a bank account.
And maybe some people prefer to earn what they get, instead of freeloading off others or stealing.
If you worked overtime and didn't get paid for it, would you respect your boss for freeloading off your effort?

Considering you can download this for free off of torrent sites in 1080p, I can't fathom why anyone would want to buy this on an old media like DVD.
