Play With This Too have updated their Facebook page with some images of a hand-painted prototype of Boneyard. Boneyard is the group’s version of Pretender Grimlock – taking the Pretender outer shell of the 1980s toy and realizing it as a fully articulated, 6 inch action figure.
These images show the figure with a hand-painted deco, so expect the final deco to possibly look a little different – but hopefully not too much. Check out the second image showing the accessories too, which includes an extra head / helmet which crosses Grimlock’s robot mode head with the helmet of his Pretender shell – with some great little details including some War Within style teeth below the cheeks.

Here is my attempt at making the "Strike Scepter" in CAD, free for download. It's a single piece. I made it in three sizes, for Deluxe, Voyager and Leader figures. All have 5mm handles.

That would be great or a way to get it going maybe link up with a established group to get them made. It's a great community and fan base to expand to these great ideas.

If Rik or Trent put the files on Cults3D or somesuch that would be awesome. Maybe we could turn it into a community developed action figure line?

That is cool I'm a novice at designing and only have tinkercad. At my disposal so that level of quality it far from me. Would love to be able to design and print things like the figures from this line. Maybe Rik would do some thing like file sales or teach how to do it lol.

Since no one ever did anything with them I was considering trying to recreate some of the weapons in CAD and print my own. I think I can at least handle these and give them to Pretender Starscream.

Thanks so much for the insights and the videos I'm going to go through them and try to contact Rik directly. I Hate kickstarter got screwed a couple of times for sellers that didn't make good on funded things and here we had someone who would have made good but was shy of funding. I k ow this is an old topic but came across it and resparked my interest and see if anyone else's interest as well.

Rik Alvarez does a YouTube show. Not sure if he reads the comments.
The last we heard officially, that I am aware of, was the interview 6 years ago.
So the news to take away from this video, as I see it is:
1. They will be staying far away from Kickstarter.
2. The 6 inch figures on are on the back burner. It is possible they will get made if another company is interested in producing their design
3. The weapons and tech drones they designed may go on to Shapeways for people to print out (please let them know if you are interested!).
4. Rik was approached by 2 different manufacturers at TFcon Charlotte. Some toys will end up getting made in partnership with another third party company with PWTToo doing design.

Thanks for that link might have to grab some they even have some battle beasts and dino rider stuff that looks good
I loved the pwtt designs and was hoping they might be revisited with the surge of 3d party and customizers if we can get some of these designs made. Is it possible to contact the original designer I couldn't find any contacts

I think the people behind this helped out other action figure Kickstarters, which were more successful.
A couple PWTToo designs made it to Shapeways through Trent Troop.

No. It’s been dead for years.

Has anyone heard anything from this idea and potentially revisiting it?

Nero boneyard!

Killed it for me. Not digging the Halloween look.
I REALLY want those "tech drones", but there's no guarantee that they'll be one of the stretch goals. I'll be all in if they can make it there. Good luck guys!

I like the orange. I wonder if it could be done in translucent orange like LEGOs.
Robogeek28
The orange makes him look better IMO.

I notice they updated the deco on Wrecktifier to add some orange…

The final reveal was the 3rd recolor of Boneyard, a guy named Stonebreaker.
His colors are a clear nod to Beast Wars Grimlock.
