Toys R Us Canada have put up a webpage listing for a Clash of the Transformers version of the Three-Step Bumblebee toy from Robots in Disguise. What is interesting about this release is that he is meant to be based on the armored form of Bumblebee (shown on the packaging art) and features a remolded head – except the head is remolded to the battlemask and not the Clash armor.
This assortment also includes an Optimus Prime which again is a redecoed and retooled Robots in Disguise three-step Optimus Prime. Both toys include bonus accessories not present on the individual releases – Bumblebee gets a sword similar to what his Warrior class release got, while Optimus has a two-bladed sword.
Like seemingly all of the Clash of the Transformers releases, these Clash of the Transformers Three-Step Changers are Toys R Us exclusives – and it is looking like TRU has worldwide exclusivity on these. That’s not all, either – a little bird tells us these have already been sighted at Canadian retail.

Yeah I could kind of see that. G1 would also work well too.
Oh Goodness.

There goes hasbro again putting energon blue on a figure that DOES NOT need it

Seems like the real villain is COLOR. As in, BRIGHT COLOR.
I get the feeling a lot of collectors like to sit in dark rooms to brood all night long…
I don't mind the colors. I like the colors. The drab movie-verse annoys me as much as Allspark blue annoys you guys.
But these 3-steps are TOO BIG. They take up too much space in the toy box and are cheaply made (light as a feather). Hasbro is blowing up simple toys to charge a premium price, because bigger naturally equals more expensive and more value, right?
I'd pick this up for the kids at a discount shop, but $20 is ridiculous.
Cheebs
Well, there's a few more figures to burn with fire.

All SPORKS!! All THE SPORK POWERS!
Barrels, like nuclear reactor waste hidden in caves with Hasbro guards all dressed in light blue guarding it 24 hours a day.

Yay capitalism <3

I think my dislike of these toys stems less from their simplicity, but rather how they try to have this streamlined appearance which doesn't really fit the simplicity. Like if we got a series that was more along the design style of the unicron trilogy or something, and we had figures like these, I would probably buy them along with the more poseable counterparts, but the character design style doesn't really fit with this if you get what I mean

Boring wastes of plastic with Ol Optimus and his hideous outside showing front clips. At least Takara gave him actual pin wheels. That I may consider buying just for the fact it does not scream AS CHEAPLY MADE AS POSSIBLE IN VIETNAM.

Oh man that blue on that bumblebee though!………hmmm……not sure if it really works well with the yellow
BattleUpSaber
That Optimus actually looks good considering it has retooled pieces for cartoon accuracy.

Now, if they did these faceplate retools on the Warrior-class ones, I'd consider buying the repaints.
I've always been a fan of this blue when combined with black, though.

I like the box art better can someone scan it

No problem.
I.seem to have a habit of buying these one/3/probably soon the 5 steps I really like the feel of quick transformation and the sculpts. I'll prolly get suckwred into buying the prime and bee here one day when.I drive to Manchester toysrus
Transquito

Eustace is right.
It doesn't really work on that design. :/
WHY DO THEY HAVE SO MUCH BLUE PAINT?
wearelegion69
Haha, ok, thanks for responding!

Not a joke … truth lol. Well basically it seemed Hasbro for awhile didn't know what to do with the stuff they added it on all their movie products for awhile. It was the second stage of movie one toys called "Allspark Battles" or something. Or was it Allspark power … I think the 1st one. Anyway it became a curse to us collectors. Hideous blue that still to this day its the first thing I thought of when seeing this bumblebee toy.

Cool I definitely like all the one step & 3 step sculpts. I wish instead of adding wings on his helmet through faux way of adding them to his mid section and his head comes through, they figured out a way for them to pop out of his head so his head became normal size when slotted inside his body. I'll have to see it in hand but they come off more of like a collar here.
I'm waiting to see the prime for 30 bucks at walmart and I can see megatronus ending up at tjmaxs for 19.99

Allspark blue paint, started being used in 2007 to show "powered up" characters, started as Target exclusive movie deluxes "all spark power" and just spread all over the place from there.
wearelegion69
I dont get the joke, care to explain?
