Deadline, which seems to be the go-to source regarding recent announcements regarding the Transformers Cinematic Universe of sequels, prequels and spin-offs, has just announced two more writers that have been added to the writer’s room headed by Akiva Goldsman. The new additions are Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet. These new writers join the previously announced team of Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, Zak Penn, Jeff Pinkner, Robert Kirkman, Christina Hodson, Lindsey Beer, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari.
Akiva Goldsman also explains some of the reasoning behind this writer’s room in the article, so check out the link above to read what he has to say. In one paragraph he even mentions Beast Wars as something that could be explored:
“If one of the writers discovers an affinity for Beast Wars, they can drive forward on treatments that will have been fleshed out by the whole room,” Goldsman said.Only time will tell if a spin-off featuring the Maximals and Predacons of Beast Wars will become a reality, but the possibility is mentioned by Mr. Goldsman himself! It appears that they are considering many options for future films.

They may not do a Beast wars style movie at all adaptation or otherwise they're just considering it so if it makes you feel better they can very well just forget the idea.
Also if you really feel that Hasbro doesn't understand good fiction period and that you felt the same way with how they handle the toys nowadays then why are you still into the franchise? If it's really gotten that bad to you then why not just take a break from it at least? Not to mention you seem to be uptight about anything that's not G1 related or inspired movieverse or not even if there's a reason why they aren't as G1 inspired like for example the reason why Optimus has flames in the movies in the first place was because at the time the colour red was hard to film on cemera whcih later on became easier to do over the years. Also Tracks had the flames first so wouldn't that make Rodimus being a rip off of him when it comes to flames?

I know, I know! Let's just do a live action rehash of the same thing we've already seen 30 some odd years ago! That's what we all want!
Oh and, blue text. Blue text everywhere.
Afterburner
Because it is Hasbro, Paramount, and Michael Bay. Why is Bumblebee a mute camaro super warrior? Why is Optimus Prime a crazed killer and a truck with flames (Rodimus)? Why is Ratchet green? Why is Wheeljack from James Bond, blue, and looks like a cliche'd human scientist? Etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc
I can't believe anyone would think we would get anywhere near a faithful adaption of what we all love about Beast Wars. It would be Beast Wars in name only, because the movies are TF in name only and the universe they exist in is ridiculously stupid and shallow. Rhinox could be a hippo or he could be a dung beetle or a marmoset. That is perfectly logical reasoning based on what we have seen and is your sad reality.
And quite frankly, Beast Wars got exceptional for us when it brought in the Earth/Ark storyline, which would be a retread here since everything that ever happened on earth was due to TF's, part of the stupidity. It is hard to do that storyline when you don't want to see movie Bumblebee preserved (if they had come by ship), you want to see him forever dead because he's just another cardboard cut out. So that angle is completely lost. Which means it would just be savage animal versus savage animal in another meaningless battle for nothing anyone will care about in a couple of years.
Now, if they want to take Beast Wars as an opportunity to reboot things, that has potential. But it is not going to happen because Hasbro, who cancelled Beast Wars, does not understand good fiction.

Well i'm freakin out!!!!!!8)

If Bay is involved again, we will probably end up with Beast Machines…
Autovolt 127
Enough that they can actually get it to work.
why?
That defeats the whole purpose of calling him Rhinox.
Bingo.

I'd like to see the latter happen since I think that's the best direction to go.
Purple Heart
Thats usually achieved by killing a hero, ala ROTF where Optimus dies,
It didn't last long because we all knew he was coming back.
DOTM had a similar moment when Que was killed, but that happened out of nowhere and Bee immediatly came to the rescue.
AOE had Ratchets death, but of course the Heroes always avenge them.

Story telling and characters. It always felt like the Beast Wars characters were more complex and could grow and change as a character while G1 characters were always the same episode to episode.
Well that and the bad guys need to win on occasion so it seems like the heroes really could fail, but that seems harder for creative teams to pull in films than on a TV series.
SuperSeeker
As long as they're looking to Beast Wars a model for storytelling, call me cautiously optimistic. People have a lot of opinions of Transformers but most people remember their run with BW as a positive experience.
SPLIT LIP
Depends if they adapt the original cartoon or pull a Japan and just make a new series with animal alt modes and the same general idea.
Macross7
Rhinox will be a hippo in this version.

The problem isn't that fans don't love Beast Wars. Lots of us love Beast Wars and it's the series we hold up when people try to dismiss Transformers as never being able to be anything more than what the G1 series was. For lots of fans Beast Wars captured what Transformers could be.
The problem is that some of us have just really lost faith in Paramount. If Disney went in plopped a big bag of money in front of the Hasbro board and said give us Transformers then I'd be crazy excited about a Beast Wars movie. But with it being Paramount my first thought to anything I enjoyed in the past is oh please no.
I just don't want Waspinator killed off, a set of ball on Rhinox, Dinobot with a Jersey Shore accent or whatever else Paramount thought was brilliant. They need to win me over with some fantastic films not just fantastic action before I can believe Paramount would give us all we could hope for with Beast Wars.
Probe
You know as well as anyone else after The Gathering and two anime sequels that calling it Beast Wars is no automatic indicator of quality.
SPLIT LIP
So no to quality?
funkatron101
How many dang writers do you need?
Eric
Thank you, that's pretty much what I was gonna say. I love Beast Wars, but I don't want it to get the live-action movie treatment.
