Well, look what we have here everyone! Yet another entry into the Astrotrain Wars! Spotted by DaimChoc on Machine Boy’s Weibo. This time we have a look at Machine Boy’s take on the Decepticon transport and uber train. Thus far, this guy seems to take a lot of aesthetic cues from the G1 toy as opposed to the animation model but still looks five different types of fantastic, and better yet, preorders have already opened up on this bad boy. Okay I'm not exactly rushing out to repeat what you've done here, but it's a very impressive mod job.
I still love Transportation Captain greatly, but it would be nice to have a company with better resources try to improve on the mold and materials.
Also, as of this post, TFSource has a loose but complete one for $80, if anybody wants to jump on that.

I tried to love this guy, I tried for a year now, but I am pretty heavy handed. First time I transformed him I broke the small panel behind his head that attach the backpack. I love playing with my bots, so he doesn't do it for me. He is a pain to transform (scared to break more parts)
He does look good so I suppose if you have him on a shelf and never mess around with it, he's ok.

It was pretty smooth out of the box, so I just painted it, no sanding. It wouldn't require much effort to get it perfectly smooth from what I recall. Depends on what material you order it in too.

I'm pretty sure the main point of wanting this guy is to have an Astrotrain that fits in with Classics. Those two groups are not going to do that.

I'm more flexible than most when it comes to what I put in my MP display. I originally bought this guy for my CHUG display years ago and was perfectly happy with him there, but with a head swap and fan mode feet transformation, I'm satisfied with him in my MP display now. I just need to get some poseable hands for him, and that'll be that.

Yeah he's great, it's just that I can see the potential for someone to come along with a 'proper' Masterpiece Astrotrain (let's face it, probably several will be announced within days of one another!) so I ended up letting him go.
