Our next new Transformers toy gallery is giving some love to the Combiner Wars Voyager class wave 3, and the Protectobot Hot Spot! A new mold, Voyager class entry into the Combiner Wars line, Hot Spot is the leader of the Protectobots and forms the torso of the giant, Defensor!
Hot Spot’s fire engine mode is pretty cool. It’s a more modern take of the original with its curved front end and updated ladder design. One flaw is that the robot mode hips are expose in this mode – but given the transformations, there is not a lot that can be done to hide them, really. The robot mode is nice and solid – while it lacks a waist joint, there are lots of cool poses you can get out of Hot Spot, and his robot mode design nicely recalls the original toy, while bringing some new stuff to the table. The twin rifles can be combined into a single larger gun, although there’s no real way to escape the fact that, yes, he’s basically just got two guns plugged into the end of each other in this configuration.
Overall, Hot Spot is a solid figure to round out a fun classics-style Combiner group. He makes for potentially the best torso in the line yet, but we’ll go into more detail on that side of things soon. For now, enjoy the gallery of this hot new Voyager class offering:

Just got confirmation from BBTS that Hotspot will be arriving in the next 10 days!
Can. Not. Wait.
Neo Tallgeese
He looks legitimately good in both modes, with Robot mode being quite eye catching. After seeing these pictures, I'm even more convinced that he will be remolded into Onslaught, seeing as how his "fire truck" mode still feels somewhat ambiguous.
jaws
Want him so much! I think before I would combine him, he just might have to kick DOTM voyager Sentinel Prime's ass to prove who is the real Autobot firetruck.
Love this shot:

Hot Spot is shaping up to become one of my top favourites of the year.
I'm sure this will be a future exclusive of some kind.
Everytime I see the Hot Spot mold I'm also reminded of the RID Scourge/Laser Prime mold.
Agreed and I usually don't like light blue colours much.
EGAD!
Rodr-Evil
Awesome!
General Magnus
How is it preferring one thing to the other and explaining the reasons "white knighting" or is it because it´s easier to strawman the other side?
Turakonin Prime
Definite onslaught opportunity. But love this mold . who am I kiddin', I love all these voyager molds from combiner wars.
TheGrognard
The TFC one is trying to have a transformation more like the G1 toy, and yeah I think it kinda fails.

I don't know….that third party Hot Spot kind of looks like crap to me. To each their own I guess.
Hooper_X
Okay, swap the ladder assembly for a SCUD-style ballistic missile and we've got ourselves an Onslaught, y'all.
Underwear
A go go!
Honesty
Funny how you post that – because all of HasTak's reveals made me run to get the 3P versions
Was going to mention how hideous the official version was, but bit my tongue – then seen your comment and couldn't help myself 😡
HasTak White Knights a-go-go!
BattleUpSaber
That's cool and all,but I have to say I'm far more I interested in the mold as Fire Convoy and Onslaught.
Underwear
This Hastak version is simply beautiful & for lack of a better word more…graceful lol? The poseability & likeness of it's G1 cartoon version (blue head) is truly spot on. Another home run for the CW line!
Unlike this oddly proportioned 3P version of it..
Prime Noble
Am I the only one who's reminded of Hot Spot's War Within Cybertronian mode when I look at that fire truck?
I assume it's based on a real truck though.
bigpink
So, cannons, and a slight retool for Onslaught for sure. Then a new head and slight chest retool for Sentinal Prime.

A lot of vehicles (especailly trucks) do tend to have black rims as well. Some people seem to paint the rims on their cars black as well (irony)
videriant
Needs a remold into motormaster. Not that travesty of a gray prime we got.
Mightion
Galleries like this make me sad.
….because my Hot Spot isn't here yet. Optimus is keeping the Protectobots company… except for Groove; who has no idea how he's supposed to be abreast of things.

I love this thing and to me it looks better without fancy painted wheels.
