Griffin-of-oz has posted his initial report from Australia Toy Fair 2015 over at OzFormers. More information is coming later but here’s Griffin’s initial report:
Photos later tonight, and the full report…. but some teaser info to get you interested and to send the global fansites into meltdown.Generations Devastator on display with my Gen1 Devastator – BigW already signed up for June/July.
More JP Masterpiece coming this year – Gold bumblebee July, Convoy reissue, Tracks (not MP25), MP25 in Sept (I can’t reveal name before TakaraTomy), and two new “sports cars” for OCT & NOV.
Platinum edition – Myer will have Seeker pack and YOTG pair… while ToysRUs will have Insecticon pack, Perceptor/Blaster, Trypticon, aaaaand…. Dinobots. YES, Gen1 Dinobots multipack which I hope is all five.
JP Stinger still for this month, only at TRU though.
GEN Slingshot & Wildrider don’t exist (yet) for Hasbro Generations, but might next year as Combiners are going to be at least two years.
Leader Starscream for wave 4.
Hasbro MP Starscream is the second (MP11) version because fans wanted it.
Hasbro MP Bluestreak will be in July.
Toyworld’s cheaper prices were indeed just introductory prices from Hasbro.
Loyal Subjects w3 should be out in the next month.
That’s most of it. More later, probably after midnight though.
Go nuts…
Meltdown commence! Stay tuned for more
EDIT: griffin has elaborated on the Mastepiece Transformers information:
Australia will continue to be following Hong Kong’s lead and having both Hasbro and TakaraTomy Masterpiece toys at ToysRUs stores here. The Japanese Masterpiece toys that SHOULD be coming this year (details and dates can change, and often do)…
– Gold bumblebee in around July,
– The Convoy reissue middle of the year,
– Tracks is NOT noted as MP-25 on the Hasbro Australia list, but maybe they have 25 and 26 mixed up, as Tracks was labelled as MP-25 in a recent Japanese Hobby magazine. If they are mixed up on this Australian list, then I know what MP-26 is.
– MP-25 (or 26 if the numbers were mixed up on the list) will be here in about Sept (I know what it is, but I can’t reveal the name before TakaraTomy announces it)
– two “sports cars” for OCT and NOV (the names haven’t be revealed to Hasbro Australia yet, as it is so far in the future, so I have no idea if they
are new moulds… but with three new moulds already this year, I’d imagine that at least one is a redeco).
(please don’t bother asking me, or expect, any more information on the future Masterpiece toys, as I am not expecting updates before
TakaraTomy reveals the next few… and everything I am allowed to talk about is listed here already)

I am optimistic, but let's not count our chickens before they hatch here. We have no hard evidence of this other than word of mouth. Hasbro representatives at these toy fairs are notorious for giving out wrong information likely due to misunderstandings or confusion.
Considering Hasbro would be first to reissue Dinobots, it is still a suspicious idea. I am not sure I can think of any other instance where they were first to reissue something before Takara, especially considering they said some of the molds were either lost or damaged.
Best to hope for it but remain skeptical until we see if it is true and exactly what is in the set.
Autovolt 127
Oh man I forgot about that.
Most likely we'll see it next month at BotCon.
DukeFett
I feel like everyone is going to want this set and it will be super hard to find.
OriginalFire
Sweet
Gonna get em
80sforged
Yeah, it was announced at this show.
OriginalFire
Are they gonna re release the G1 Dinobots
Ace Convoy
First time since I started collecting that I don't want to buy a figure from the Main TV show…
Plenty of classics I want to pick up.
DukeFett
I hope we hear about them at Botcon.
80sforged
I'm just hoping they don't do an edition of cartoon accurate ones for SDCC.
EightiesKid
Whoa, G1 Dinobots?? That's crazy talk!! That would be incredible!!
BWfan86
I am curious about thia myself
Afterburner
#1 on a lot of people's lists.
CVprowl
when might we hear more news on these g1 reissue dinobots? like maybe the next convention or something… these are #1 on my list of things i want them to reissue.
Liampope
Cool – so any idea when the 'exciting' new mould for 26 will be announced?
And, will it be Ironhide?
griffin-of-oz
A very minor update, which only confirms what was already known – I asked, and the Hasbro rep said that Tracks is indeed MP-25. So hopefully the confusion that this tiny little mixup or typo can be put behind us, and just enjoy all the new images and info of Tracks now.
Shin Densetsu
He says he "hopes" before mentioning how many he hopes are in the set and coloring. I don't think he was saying he knew what colors they'll be.
I highly doubt that. I don't want to throw this thread off topic because this can easily sway towards a speculation debate and that's not what this thread is about. I don't think Takara aims to beat 3ps to market, I think it's the other way around. Again, until 3p toys are sold at big retailer shelves next to official Transformers, Hasbro/TakaraTomy might not waste the money in legal costs to put a stop to 3p companies.
It's possible that they knew of FansToys' then-Soundwave figure and that KFC had what would be Citizen Stack, in the works. It's also possible that they didn't care. I don't think Hasui Shogo was behind a computer screen trying to see what those companies were coming up with for a Soundwave/Ultra Magnus. The bigger issue is and was the use infringement of Hasbro/Takara's intellectual property. However, building on what I said previously, this may not be a huge deal to them until if/when 3p products are sold at mass market retailers competing directly with Transformers on the same shelves.
danny boy
Huh?
Ok read it wrong. You're hoping for gen 1 colouring and all 5.
Shin Densetsu
Crossing fingers they'll be in G1 colors
griffin-of-oz
No… all I was told was that they were "Gen1 Dinobots". No details of how many or what colours.
danny boy
I believe griffin confirmed they will be G1 colored. The only thing not confirmed is the number of Dinobots.
