Also via the Cybergundam Facebook feed, we have a look at a possible follow-on to the high-end non-transforming Ultimetal Optimus Prime, an Ultimetal Ultra Magnus. The piece on display at the hobby show this image was taken at shows a white version of Ultimetal Optimus Prime, but illustrations behind the display show the Magnus armor, implying that the final release may come with a full set of outer armor – which will give the figure two layers of armor, given how the Ultimetal Optimus Prime this was based on already had removable parts to show the inner workings.
EightiesKid
Magnus looks good but likely too pricey.
Bobbatronus
If they make Skyfire and/or Starscream, I might be in trouble.
Ayelborne
Hmm, if the underlying white Prime figure is all plastic with metal Magnus armor, that could keep the cost the same or close to the first Ultimetal Prime. Though the plastic figure would have to be made very sturdy to hold up all that metal armor.
REMINATOR
Bummer, as an UM fan, knowing there's a figure out there to purchase but can't afford it due too pricey is killing me
Considering Ultimetal Prime was $949 from BBTS, I can't imagine how much UM will cost. I can't justify to pay 1K over a toy.
A poster from other board mentioned the white Magnus won't be metal plate like Prime, but just plastic. Only the armor will be metal plate, so no double layers of metal that may easily cause paint scratch.
koonfasa
2.5 party?
HanDy
^ this.
koonfasa
wtf, UM-02 is battle damaged Prime.
I'd get Ultimetal Shockwave if it was made.
OriginalFire
I don't get why anybody would buy these things. My MP old school Ultra Magnus looks the same and transforms
Bobbatronus
I like Ultra Magnus' (the Magnus armor) look better than Primes. It would be cool, seeing that this is a very expensive figure, to offer different armor sets for the Prime frame. What I mean is you could choose G1 Prime, Ultra Magnus, Mainstream Prime, video game Prime, etc…
The same goes for the Megatron figure.
supervir2
Release Prime already:/
LegendAntihero
Darn, I was hoping for a armored Unimetal Magnus. Not that it matters since I can't afford one
Autovolt 127
It's Nicey but 2pricey4Me.
motorthing
Nice. But too much. Probably.
shadowfall1976
Because I felt like it?
Better question is why disrupt the thread to critique my choice of spelling?
If you have a problem with my spelling and grammar choices, next time make it a PM, or even better yet, ignore my posts.

These are not made by or have anything to do with Takara / they are by another company that is licensed.
crazee928
then I wish they'd do a poor man's version and release these guys in plastic for a fraction of the cost – I wouldn't be able to tell whether it's metal or plastic when it's just sitting on the shelf ^.^
xdmisato
Because majority of the parts are made of die-cast metal.
Fallout
why is a non converting UM with armor gonna be 1000+ and MP-22 is… $200?
xdmisato
Ultimetal Optimus Prime stands at 17" I think so no, the armor won't fit MP-10.
imcody
does anyone know the size of these? not that i can afford it but would the armor fit mp-10?
