Via the Planet Iacon Facebook page, we now have our first full look at Takara’s version of Superion, the first offering in their new Unite Warriors line (Takara’s version of Hasbro’s Combiner Wars). It seems this will be sold as a gift set, being labelled as “UW-01”.
As many had been speculating, he does indeed include the missing member of the Aerialbots, Slingshot, rather than his replacement Alpha Bravo. Slingshot, as many had also been speculating, is a redeco of Firefly with what looks to be a new head. The other individual Aerialbots feature many deco differences from their US counterparts for increased G1-accuracy, also with Superion possessing white hands and feet rather than the black ones of the US release.
Also featured is our first look at Takara’s version of Robots in Disguise Warrior Class Bumblebee, who also looks to feature a handful of deco differences from the Hasbro version.
Check it out after the jump!

I'm pretty happy with this so far. Still haven't combined yet, but they look so good as a team in robot mode. I'm buying mostly Decepticons, but the aerialbots were always my favorite autobot combiner and it appeared that Takara was gonna do it right and they did, albeit a couple loose balljoints and a few paint app scratches. Didn't really care for the inside box and tray. but the front of the box's graphics look nice
Edit: Got him in combined mode. Looks pretty damn amazing. Question… are superion's legs suppose to slide out so easily? When posing him the legs tend to come off. The yellow spring tabs on Silverbolt at the connection point don't seem to do much of anything

What PlanckEpoch said. I got the repro labels and this positioning helps me feels better about my purchase.

I just wish they would of been single pack as I only wanted 2 maybe 3 of the Aerialbots, Air Raid, Fireflight and on the fence on Sky Dive.

THis!!! And i like the kibble or jet fuselage facing the front anyway. Acts like knee pad armor for Superion.
PlanckEpoch
It basically has to bend at Silverbolt's robot mode elbows.
GR1ML0CK
I tried that configuration last night. Cant really bend the knees cause the jet kibble gets in the way. I also pegged in alpha bravo on to his back with a long 5mm peg. Nice and tight
Autovolt 127
Oh my god.
That looks so much better….wait so are you still able to bend at the knee in this configuration?

Well played!

Looks great! On a side note, what do you think of the PE hands and feet?

I can't decide which way I think looks best, it drives me nuts and I constantly change it because I can't make up my mind about it.
I know I prefer it both ways over having one leg with jet kibble back and the other leg with jet kibble front though, so some sort of progress I guess.
Predakwon
I think so.
MasterScale
Does anyone else think that Superion looks better when the leg's jet kibble is turned to the back?

I'll look into this. At the very least I'll probably sand down those nubs; they seem completely unnecessary since the head plate already tabs into the backpack.

I've just opened my UW Superion..I put it side by side my Hasbro oh man both of 'em looked nice & awesome! It's a great time to be a collector with the choices and options out there.
Oh another thing the TT Superion antenna is perfect!

Still improving on the Hasbro – good old paint markers ☺

There are two tiny little nubs on the side of the arm that the headplate is attached to. Getting the head in and out of the torso compartment isn't always the problem, but it does provide pressure in the wrong spot, so it's not really helping matters. It's when you swivel the plate to put the head in place, it catches those nubs as well as being ridiculously tight on that pivot. The tightness, plus the nubs, plus your natural inclination to manipulate the plate where it makes sense, causes the thinner part of the panel to crack and separate with each use. Slowly but surely, it will lead to a nearly clean break.
To remedy this, shave off those nubs, grab the armature by Silverbolt's crotch/codpiece and pull the whole assembly out by that. It'll take more force from your hand and isn't an easy pull or method, but it takes all the pressure off the plate and if you use the thicker end of the plate to manipulate it, the thinner part won't be affected or even crack.
Kind of a mess and shouldn't have to be done, but it works and saved my replacement Silverbolt from going through the original's misfortunes.

Is the cover supposed to be fragile? I had absolutely no problem transforming that part to the point where I was wondering why people were complaining about it. Just push the head from the space where Silverbolt's head goes and it's easy peasy. Doesn't require that much force.

Thinking about getting the Unite Warrior version, but am hoping someone can answer a couple of questions:
Is the fragile cover for Superion's head on Silverbolt any different? That seemed the main 'quality' problem with him in the US release.
Has anyone gotten the set shipped from HLJ to the UK? If so, how much was shipping?
Thanks in advance!

I love how he came out but he needs that gray face.
