TFW2005 boards member Icespark has once again informed us of a possible upcoming Transformers product. From a computer listing at Toys ‘R’ Us, it seems we may be getting a figure of Megatronus – retailing for $29.99. We have no details other than that as of yet, and no photos either. Might this be related to the Robots in Disguise show?
Speculate away after the break!

I'd love to see Dreamwave Fallen get a mainstream type of toy

Yeah do we know who Megatronus is exactly in the current comics? The last issue few issues of RID, I have been thinking Galvatron could be Megatronus?
I am assuming Megatronus is not someone we have seen before? He just seems to be some sort of mythical legend? but Galvatron could be Megatronus in disguise?
Or if he is like the dreamwave Fallen, maybe he is a Combiner Wars repaint of the leader Megatron or Possible Onlaught???

If the price is meaningless and this was a deluxe, why does the listing say "Retail: $29.99" and "Original Retail: $29.99" instead of "Original Retail: $12.99"?

I see, thanks for the info!

Probably a typo

Hasbro pulled a George Lucas and made poetry.

This is a TRU listing, so price is pretty much meaningless. They listed Generations Deluxe's being on sell for $12.99 from $29.99.
We do know Prime is on a Spirit quest learning from the 12 Primes, minus the Fallen. Also do we know who the Fallen is? I was under the impression it was Leige Maximo, or something but Megatronous was not him. Megatron took the Name of Megatron for Political reasons, you don't take a Traitors name, you take a Hero's Name.
Also I just realized how important names are to Transformers. The Fallen's name was taken from him, and there were the Nameless workers at the bottom.

After reading through all of your posts I'm going to side with you.
We know the 12 are going to appear in RID and yet here we are, getting a figure of one amd everyones like. OH SHIT, GENERATIONS.
I want to know what "Clash of The Transformers is." Maybe Megatronus is also being showcased for his ancient nature and the massive "wars" that possibly tool place back then.
kaijuguy19
So does Megatronus bear some design elements from the past Fallen designs?
jru42287
I'm telling you, it's definitely not Generations, and the the style looks like that of the new cartoon. Whether it actually is, we'll have to wait and see, but that's my best educated guess. It's under some banner called "Clash of the Transformers."
The photo I've seen from our work computers. It's not a final image, but it's like no other iteration of Megatron that I've seen before, and, as I said above, appears to look like the RiD cartoon style.
SpinalCord
He said "looks like the animation style of RID", so that's what I'm asking about.
IgnikaMarcus
He could be referencing the fact that Optimus will be training under the the other 12 Primes in RID, including Megatronus.
SpinalCord
So jelly
I'm missing something then… how do we know Megatronus is from RID? What are you referencing?
Slingshot
Why wouldn't Optimus or Grimlock be in the voyager line then?
Ravenxl7
They haven't announced one yet, but for all we know RID could still be getting Voyager class figures.
Slingshot
Still, there is no way this is in RID. I don't know about Generations either.
jru42287
Except they're not. All of TRU's CW listings still say "Generations" and not "Combiner Wars."
Slingshot
That's because their adopting the Combiner Wars sub line.
jru42287
Probably why he's listed as his own figure, and not part of a voyager assortment. Either that, or the animation style is carrying over to CW, which is highly doubtful. And even then, unless he's exclusive to TRU, would still be listed under the same item number as the CW Voyagers.
Also, notice how the words "Generations" do not appear in the item name, as they do with every other Generations figure.
