Hisashi Yuki’s twitter page continues to be a terrific and fun source of Transformers news and information from the Takara side of our hobby. In addition to an in-package image of the Legends line Brainstorm, we’ve been shown a teaser image of Takara’s Combiner Wars Superion! Titled as Unite 2015, the blacked out silhouette has already triggered many fans to speculate that the gestalt is comprised of 4 jet limbs, replacing the Alpha Bravo helicopter Hasbro has given us. It’s truly hard to see or confirm definitively based on the silhouette, so you’ll need to judge for yourself if Takara is in fact replacing the jet limb with a Slingshot figure. Hopefully we know for sure soon enough!

Probably in part due to culture. The Japanese don't read IDW nearly as much as we do, and Takara has always catered to collectors and G1 fans heavily.

That's good news for me, because finding individual Generations/Legends releases at retail in Japan is a hassle. Maybe it would be better at TRU, but there isn't one near me. All I have is Bic Camera and a couple electronics shops that also have a good variety of toys and models. But TFs other than movie toys are spotty at best here right now. They will definitely carry a box set though.

It seems it will be sold as a full set anyway. Superion has a single serial number "UW01" (Unite Warriors 01).
That of course doesn't mean TakaraTomy won't release them individually later on.

Oh dang, I just noticed Skydive has his lightning bolts. I was only planning to get Slingshot but between the extra details like the lighting bolts, gold antennae & white feet/hands on Supes and yellow paint on Silverbolt I think I'm in for the full set.

I'm curious if the "they're AERIALbots, any flying machine is acceptable" people would have been fine with Superion team made from a jet, a helicoptor, a dirigible, a flying saucer and a dog wearing a jetpack. Can someone draw that, please?
Now that I've conjured that image I just realized I would have found that more appealing than 4 jets and a chopper.

This situation was inevitable the moment Hasbro decided to include a helicopter in the group. Even if it wasn't a helicopter and it was a Harrier Slingshot, any mere differences alone would've set some fans off.
Debate about which is better and which homages G1 better is fine but the way those strong feelings are expressed can be toned down. Plus this is only the first month of 2015 who knows what other additions may come our way by December? Be patient and there's no reason to be at each other's throats over difference of preference/opinion.
