Still looks like Brownimus Prime to me

I can more or less agree with that criteria. I'm not as convinced that I'd know who that was… certainly not immediately… if I didn't have the identity provided to me before I'd seen the picture. I'm sure I could have guessed, but that's not the same thing.
Autovolt 127
I guess…..
I think I'm just more disappointed that Huffer didn't get a new original mold. I was hoping we'd see a Pipes down the line.
Thundershot
If you can look at the toy and immediately know who the character is, then I think they did ok. That is unmistakably Huffer, so I'm happy.
motorthing
Well I suppose at least they changed the head. But very little of that besides the colours says "Huffer" to me. But it's a decent mould and poseable too. Could have been worse.
Noideaforaname
It's not like the Optimus mold doesn't already have another bunch of potential repaints it could be without mucking up Huffer — and by extension Pipes.
No offense, man, but you really don't know the fandom.
Fallout
also huffer's always turned into a smaller truck, not a full-sized semi. i know that shouldn't bother me but size is kind of important to his character lol
rosewater
Yeah, the problem is that he's an orange Prime. Period. Huffer deserves his own mold, and the repaint into Pipes could be engineered into it from the get-go. And plenty of people complain about CJ being a repaint of Bee.
G.B. Blackrock
This, re: Cliffjumper.
As to Huffer. Again, he looks like an Orange Prime. Full stop. That's not what Huffer should look like.
Correct colors are not enough. A cab-hood would help, but I can imagine the possibility that it could look like Huffer without it. Without it, though, I'd have to see it to say whether it works or not. THIS one has too many distinctive "Optimus Prime" features to work. Prime's robot mode, in almost all of his variations (and the exceptions are well-known and notable for deviating from this pattern) has the chest windows. Any robot that hopes to look like something other than a "differently-colored-Prime" would do well to avoid those.
slugslinger2004
For me at least, I don't like the extremely broad shoulders. It bugged me a bit with Prime, but whatever, it's a Legends toy and Optimus is the heroic leader of the Autobots.
And as for Cliffjumper, everyone complains that he's just a repainted Bumblebee. They always complain about that. Even when the original Classics toy was release folks complained and it could be found relatively cheaply until Fansproject released their add on kit for it.

Other than the cab hood now being a cab chest, what is different about this Huffer compared to the original Huffer? This Huffer has orange legs, purple robot body, silver arms, the correct head, what more can you ask for?
Cliffjumper looks more different now than he did to his original toy and nobody complains about him?
G.B. Blackrock
See, for me, the robot mode is far more important than the alt mode. The alt modes could be identical, but if the robot modes are totally dissimilar (as they are here), that counts as a fail.
Also, there's a world of difference between my idea of "totally dissimilar" and "has to look exactly like the G1 counterpart." I've been perfectly happy with most (by no means all, of course) G1 homages in recent years. This one simply misses the boat, IMHO.
G.B. Blackrock
Conversely, I'd rather not have a Huffer at all (at this point in time) than have a repaint that looks nothing like the character. While I don't think I'm as picky as Afterburner (I certainly wouldn't have said all of the arguments he's used), I do think that this particular mold looks nothing like Huffer, and just screams "Orange Prime."
Richard McBeef
Indeed, I will agree with that. Also, he does have a kickass head sculpt.
DarkEyes
There are only scalpers selling Combiner Wars figures on Amazon right now. The Amazon Voyager price was 26.99 and Legends 10.99. All units were sold out in just one day.
Bass X0
And he is. The colors are spot on. He just has a new cab chest instead of a cab hood due to the mold he's repainted from. He's more accurate than any other new Huffer we have got.
Who says they don't care about Pipes?
Starscream Gaga
I'm sorry, but I hate the Huffer. I hate the Huffer on the principle that it reduces the chances of a MTMTE Pipes and I loved that little guy before he was viciously murdered.
The cast may not remember him half an issue later, but I do…
Murasame
Woah, has anyone seen the prices on Amazon for Deluxes and Voyagers? With these prices it's even cheaper to import the Takara figures…
Richard McBeef
Ha, you're indeed right about the pipe arms. And ironically, if they do a Pipes repaint, he will be lacking pipes of any kind.
Bogatan
Your right that the later end of the legends line is all about good G1 homages to minibots and Insecticons, but the line started last year as mini transformers to interact with Metroplex. While still homagey, they weren't as G1 acurate as the later part of the line.
If Huffer was anew mould and didn't have the hood and pipe arms (which oddly no one seems to mention, despite them being just as unique to the mould as the hood) then I'd absolutely agree it was weak or whatever. But its not, its just a repaint, well a remould with awesome new head, of an old figure that fills out the current CW line while filling out the legends minibot line up too.
