For our next gallery we present the other new addition in the next Generations Deluxe class assortment, Generations Chromia!
Chromia was one of the original female Autobots, introduced in the 1985 episode “The Search for Alpha Trion” along with Firestar, Moonracer, and Elita One. She’s more recently received a new, updated design as one of the three female Transformers added to the IDW comics universe alongside Windblade and Nautica. This toy represents that new, updated design – but at the same time it does a good job of homaging the original Chromia. What it means for collectors is we get another female Autobot for our shelves!
The Chromia toy is a pretty cool bit of mold reuse on Hasbro’s part. The basic transformation along with the torso, shoulders, hands, and parts of the legs are recycled from the Transformers Prime mainline Arcee toy – but the rest of the toy is completely reworked to the extent that Chromia is barely recognizable from Prime Arcee, unless you stand them next to each other. Chromia keeps all the good stuff from the Arcee mold she is based on – poseability and balance are great, with only the shoulders occasionally being obstructed. Chromia is fairly light on accessories with just the one weapon, but she makes up for it by looking great and having a particularly cool alternate mode. She’s worth taking a look at if you want another addition to your IDW Transformers characters shelves – check out our gallery and see for yourself.

Is there a link to this custom set? I would very much to like to see the finished product.
Well, the Generations Chromia is an amazing sculpt, even though it's derived from the Prime Arcee mold. My only gripe is the color scheme and the lack of a detachable canopy. I felt that there was so much potential for this mold, and they for some reason, just fell short. I decided to buy a few of them and retool them into the Impulse Gundam team (mecha from Gundam SEED Destiny). I have posted pics in the Radicons Custom forum as well, in case anyone is curious about the work involved in customizing them.
Minor/Repaint: – Generations Chromia – new head, minor retooling, complete repaint

I don't think we have to worry about Afterburner or the others getting gender bent. Chromia's figure doesn't appear like it could combine in a cohesive manner even if it was intended. Looking at the Combiner Wars deluxes show that their ports are imbedded in their chests. Chromia, Arcee, nor Windblade could handle that becuase it would interfere with transfomation.
Speaking from personal ventures, I'm repainting FOC Bruticus into Defensor. I have a spare RiD Arcee and wanted to see how well it functioned as a foot. Without extensive modding, it doesn't. Even just removing a port from the Combaticons would not be enough becuase she's too short. Even then, there would be only true one place to put the port and that's the tail fin underside.
Minor FYI, while I did mention Lamprey was working on fem-Technobots, I never said anything about a combined mode. Sorry to disappoint but I'm going off of what he stated and he did not mention anything of making the figures combine.

If Hasbro decides to make a Computron Chromia does not need to be repainted into Afterburner Hasbro has made enough repaints and remodels i say all new figures for Computron that aren't fembots.
Sol Fury
I'd like to make it a full Futurama reference and call it "Femputron".

i really want her and the other 2 fembots, they are the only ones from Generations i really want. damn Hasbro of Latin America for not bringing them here due to not selling Gens here (expect for the AOE Gens stuff)
Autovolt 127
That sounds pretty cool. I like the idea of FemComputron.
RobotKnight95
Well Lamprey's working on retooling Arcee, Chromia, and Windblade into female Technobots while making two of his own to complete the set. So there's that to look forward to.
Lumpy
YES! a repaint as a fembot Afterburner will totally be purchased.
lazy that they remolded like 50% of a toy to create something that looks so different? i dont see that as lazy, in the slightest.
Indeed. more boatformers is a win.
ditto on both counts.
I cant wait for this figure to arrive in my hands… hopefully that happens so
BScorpinok75
I'd buy that Dolphin remold of Airracnid if it were to happen…actually I'd buy two…one to custom back into a heli- as a new alt for Moonracer…Takara please help a fembot collector out… …actually that doesnt seem impossible for TCC to do if they were interested…replace the blades with a dorsal & two pectorals…new head…new deco…
[Wing_Saber-X]
^Eh, I dunno.. she looks more like a Dolphin-submarine.. not a organic one ala Beast Wars the first.
RobotKnight95
Not that I can tell because I can't read the text. I just call her Flipper.
Here's a link though: http://tformers.com/transformers-ex…ity-yokohama-decepticons-logo/24514/news.html
EDIT: Apparently her name is Nabi-Ko.
Autovolt 127
Have they even given this dolphin a name. Seriously this is maybe one of the best re-purposing potential retool designs they've ever done.
ORIO
I love that group shot Simon.
Also, I kinda love that artwork of Prime Airachnid as a dolphin.
Grimlock_13
It really looks fantastic. The remolding done in this figure works really really well. The backpack is a bit ugly but the toy looks to balance with no problems in spite of it.
What's the big deal with the clear canopy? Stock photos should NEVER be used as an indication of what the final product is going to be like. It's not like the entire robit mode is sitting there looking up through the clear plastic. I guess if people resort to that pathetic level of bitching it shows how good the toy actually ended up being.

Prime Arcee is a great toy and this just improves on it. No more wings or tail stinger and in a beautiful deco to boot. Sweet.
DOTM Bumblebee
Chromia looks awesome. I'd really like to get her and Arcee, if I can ever afford them…
Robogeek28
She's pretty cool even with the backpack.
DJW107PRIME
I'm looking forward to this as I've never owned the Arcee mold. I think she looks great.
